What Will 22,560 Free Downloads Do For Me?
While it's still too early to tell the impact this many downloads has had on my Kindle book and business, I still want to go over the benefits of receiving this many free downloads and what I expect it will do for me.
1. The Snowball Effect
Since I used a paid service to get a guaranteed 10,000 downloads for my Kindle book, it allowed me to get that much-needed boost to get on the Top 100 Free Kindle Book list. I saw my ranking hit #4 overall in all of Amazon, which is incredible. As a result, my book was able to get 12,560 extra free downloads from being on that list, just as a snowball effect.
2. Instant And Long-Term Ranking For Keywords
The way that Amazon search algorithm works is that the more downloads/sales your Kindle book gets, the higher it ranks. Whenever I run a KDP Select free promotion on any of my books and get a fair amount of downloads, I'm able to easily rank it for specific keywords. I have a bunch of strategies to rank my Kindle books in my Mastering Book Publishing program, but understand that the more downloads you get, the better. I've also found that the rankings tend to stick immediately after the free promotion is over as well, so it's not just a temporary ranking change – it is long-term.
With my Life Mastery book, unfortunately it isn't optimized for any particular keyword. It's basically a Kindle book that I primarily promote and get sales from on my blog. If I did have a specific keyword I was trying to rank for, I expect it'd be ranked #1 for it after this amount of downloads and it would stay that way. The purpose of getting this many downloads for me wasn't for the “keyword ranking”, but more so as a case study and to get a massive amount of website traffic and e-mail signups.
3. Website Traffic And E-Mail Signups
Depending upon how many of those people actually read the book, I am expecting to have a large portion of people visit my blog and sign-up for my e-mail newsletter. I've already noticed a massive increase of e-mail signups and a spike in traffic over the last 5-6 days, but it's still fairly early as my Kindle book is over 200 pages long and it can take some people weeks or months to finish the book.
4. More Sales, Commissions And Coaching Clients
The biggest benefit that I expect to receive will be an increase of sales for products that I offer on my blog and in my newsletter, as well as more coaching applications. I've optimized my blog and auto responder list effectively to promote my product and services. My Kindle book also mentions my coaching services in it as well.
The biggest benefit isn't necessarily the NUMBER of leads/subscribers I will get, but rather the QUALITY of them. The quality of leads that I get from my Kindle book is the best kind of lead, since they already have an established relationship with me after reading my Kindle book. They know my story, have received value from me, and have built some trust with me. These types of leads are most likely to become raving fans and followers. It's these types of leads that will likely be my best customers.
5. Making A Difference In Peoples Lives
More than anything, by getting my Kindle book in front of 22,560 people I will be able to make a massive difference in peoples lives. The entire reason why I wrote and created my book, and my blog, is to help people. I feel blessed to have been able to touch so many peoples lives and it motivates me to move forward by creating more killer content. If a handful of people can take what I share and APPLY it to their lives, I will be grateful for that, as I will be fulfilling my mission on this planet. Any other benefit I receive other than making a difference is just the cherry on top.
