Amazon is a money machine.
In 2018 alone, Amazon generated $232.9 billion in revenue and had net income growth of 30.9%. They have hundreds of millions of customers who use their platform every single day. The U.S. is the biggest marketplace on Amazon. However, now they are growing internationally in Europe, India, Australia, and Canada.
As long as Amazon continues to grow by double digits in sales, this gives more opportunities for everybody to sell on Amazon. It's important to understand that your success on Amazon is based on the niche and the type of product that you sell. Obviously some products have higher potential than other products.
Also, you don't just want to limit yourself to Amazon. You want to start on Amazon but eventually you want to expand to other platforms as well. This will provide more potential for you to make more money from your products. Beyond that, you also want to build a brand so that you can drive traffic from Google, YouTube or Facebook to your e-commerce site.
When Tatiana first started, she built her brand on Amazon. However, as soon as she started to get brand recognition, she opened up a Shopify store and let her audience know. She had a wider variety of products for sale on that platform. Within her first year of starting that store, she did $1 million dollars in sales.
She profited way more than she would have had she only been selling on Amazon. Today, she is still on Amazon but the majority of her sales come from Shopify.
