I have created a new and improved version of K Money Mastery which is called, Mastering Book Publishing!
About a month ago I sent out a survey to my e-mail list and followers of ProjectLifeMastery.com to help understand you more. I wanted to know how I can further add value to you and continue to meet your needs. Instead of guessing, I thought I'd actually send out a survey and find out from you.
One of the most valuable marketing lessons that I've learned is to survey your followers or demographic to find out what THEY want, and then to give it to them. That's what marketing is after all – it's about finding a demand and meeting their needs. The information that I received from the survey was extremely valuable and it's going to help me continue to grow PLM and reach my goal of publishing 100 video blogs during 2014.

The first question I asked was, “What is the #1 area that you'd be most interested in learning about from me?“ Based on your answers shown below, the #1 response was How To Make Money Online at 30.63%. After that was Motivation at 23.75%. Goal Setting at 15%. And Kindle Publishing at 11.88%. Finances, health, fitness, relationships, etc… didn't get as high of a response.
The second question asked was, “What is the #2 area that you'd be most interested in learning about from me?“ Based on your answers shown below, the top response was Goal Setting at 19.38%. A close 2nd was How To Make Money Online at 18.12%. Very close third was Motivation at 16.88%. And Kindle Publishing at 12.50%. These results were all VERY close.
I also asked a third question about the #3 thing, but based on the feedback I've determined that the top areas people want to learn from me are:
- How To Make Money Online
- Motivation
- Goal Setting
- Kindle Publishing
There was definitely still a lot of interest in the other areas, like health & fitness and finances, but it wasn't as big as the ones mentioned above. Does that mean that I won't post about health or fitness? No. I still will, simply because I want to share those areas with others and I'm passionate about it, but the majority of the content moving forward will be more related to what people want to hear the most from me.
Another question asked was, “What's your favourite way to consume information from me?” and the top answer was YouTube at 69.38%. The second way is through Blog Articles, at 20.62%. Podcasting was a lowly 1.88%. This just goes to show how powerful my YouTube videos are and how much you guys enjoy them!
Another question asked was, “How often do you visit ProjectLifeMastery.com?” The top answer was “A few times per week” at 33.75%. “A few times per month” was second at 21.25%. “Once per week” was third at 20.62%. “Daily” was at 10.62%. Very cool and interesting.
I received many other great answers from this survey, such as the #1 challenge that my followers were facing in their lives (money was the biggest). I also received a lot of amazing support and feedback that was invaluable. It was a big eye-opener in many ways by doing this, but the biggest thing I got was support and encouragement to keep going with my blog and to continue delivering high quality content.
How To Survey Your List
If you have an e-mail list or way to communicate with your prospects or customers in your business, then I'd highly encourage to survey them. I always make sure to survey my list and followers before I consider creating a product or service, as I want to ensure the demand is there first. Your followers, prospects or customers will TELL you what they want. This is VALUABLE. No more guessing or “thinking” you have a great idea. Once you know this information, then you can create something and just deliver it to them. You then no longer have to “sell” anyone on anything, as it's an easy connect for them. You are providing them value by doing this!
In my survey, I used something called Wufoo. I've also used SurveyMonkey too. Both are good and will do the job. They also let you use them for free to begin with to test things out.
All you have to do is set up the questions you want to ask and follow the instructions on those sites. Once you've created your survey, they will give you a link that you can send out to your e-mail list, prospects or customers. It's that easy!
