Tatiana and I recently experienced an unforgettable Tanzania safari adventure.
Tanzania is, by far, one of the best safari destinations in Africa. We traveled with Easy Travel, which is an award-winning tour operator in Tanzania. They definitely lived up to their title.
They took us on a tour of the Serengeti National Park, Mount Kilimanjaro, and the Lake Manyara National Park.
Ready for a sneak peek of our Tanzanian adventure? This was an experience that we will never forget.

Tanzania is one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
From incredible landscapes to an abundance of wildlife, and breathtaking beaches, Tanzania will leave you speechless. Below are some of the highlights of our trip!
Mount Kilimanjaro
This is the tallest single standing mountain in the world which is comprised of three volcanic cones – Kibo, Shira, and Mawenzi. Hiking the entire mountain takes about 5-9 days.
Tatiana and I decided to just do a day trip and hiked up to Mandara Hut. This is the first level of Mount Kilimanjaro. It took about us about four hours to get to the top and two hours to hike back down. The hike itself wasn't too steep but we definitely got a workout.
Lake Manyara National Park
Apart from the epic setting, this park is home of tree climbing lions, diverse birdlife, elephant herds, giraffes, leopards, and baboons. Tatiana and I camped outside in a glamping-style tent set amidst nature.
We were given walkie talkies to call security if we needed to venture out, in order to protect us from the wildlife. However, we still felt very safe and the local people were very warm and welcoming. There was an amazing restaurant, bar, and lounge on site as well.
The Maasai Tribe
We got the unique opportunity to visit the Maasai tribe who are well known for their unique culture and tribal outfits. The tribe greeted us with smiling faces and traditional African music. We sang along with them and got a tour of their camp.
The Maasai people live in simple mud huts and children go to school in huts made of sticks. Whenever we travel to third world countries, Tatiana and I are always reminded of how lucky we are in the Western world. Despite having so little in terms of amenities, the Maasai people were still smiling.
The Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti National Park is one of the best-known wildlife sanctuaries in the world. The landscape is a vast savanna of grass which stretches for 1.5 million hectares. On our tour, Tatiana and I got the opportunity to view and experience some of the largest migrations of wildlife, including lions, rhinos, elephants, leopards, zebras and more.
It was so amazing to see these animals roaming freely in their natural habitat. What was even more special is that our tour guides planned a special engagement celebration for us when we got back to the Tortilis camp.
They blindfolded Tatiana and I and took us in the middle of a bush and surprised us with a 4-course meal. We even had security with us to protect us from the wildlife at night! It was a pretty magical moment. Upon leaving the camp, the locals danced and sang as they wished us a pleasant goodbye, yet again showing how warm and friendly the African people are.
Our Tanzania safari was an experience that we will never forget.
I highly recommend that you put Tanzania on your travel bucket list. Africa is a very special place. Our next destination is Kenya. Stay tuned for that!
