Day In The Life: Food Preparation For WBFF Contest Day

On the Friday morning before the WBFF competition, I decided to prepare all of my meals in advance so that I can be as organized as possible during contest day.  My coach had put together a plan for me called “Peak Week” which would be the protocol I followed the week before, and exactly what to do during contest day.  I decided to make a fun “Day In The Life” video of the preparation, so you can see and follow along exactly what I did to look my best for the contest.

First, let me reference to the “Peak Week” plan which is talked about in the video.  Below you can see the screen shot.

As you can see from the above image, I had specific macro's of protein, carbs, and fats to intake for the week, along with sodium restrictions, and a specific plan for my training.  I talked a bit more about this in my last Fitness Progress Report before the competition.  We focused mainly on loading up more on carbs the week before contest day, which would allow me to look fuller and bigger.

On the Contest Day segment, you'll see a specific plan that I had to follow.  I had to wake up at 5AM Saturday morning (I didn't get much sleep at all) and start consuming the meals that I prepared the day before, to get food in my system and start carb-loading.  It was a very interesting experience, to say the least, but I executed the plan perfectly.  During the day of the competition, I was communicating with my coach via text message, sending pictures, and getting feedback on any adjustments that were to be made.

In the video below, I share my entire experience preparing everything for the day.  I cook up all the meals and have all the ingredients I need, packaged in tupperware containers.  Food preparation is key to having success with transforming your body, as you need to make sure you're consciously consuming the right foods.  It's about being proactive versus reactive.  When you're prepared and have a plan laid out for you, it's easy to follow.  Without the plan, you'll just reach for whatever “feels good” in the moment and gives you that instant gratification.

Enjoy the video, I had fun making it.
