Content Creation Strategies

Look and find what people are searching for online.

Google and YouTube can tell you a lot of info about what people are looking for. People type in keywords of exact words and phrases of things that they are looking for online. For example, Google has the a free tool called, Google Keyword Planner.

This tool allows you to put in a keyword phrase and it gives you the exact phrases and the total # of searches that people are searching for every month for that keyword. For example, if the keyword is “how to lose fat”, the tool will tell you exactly how popular that phrase is. Furthermore, it will give you other variations of that keyword that you can then create content around.

Utilise SEO so that you can optimise your content for specific keywords.

By doing so, people will be able to find you when they search for specific keywords, and consume and benefit from your content. Once you have an audience, you don’t have to be as diligent about optimising your keywords.

Look to see what content people are consuming in the niche or market that you are in.

For example, if you are in the fitness market, you should be following leaders in that market on their YouTube, blog, etc. Observe and see what their most popular content is. What content has the highest engagement? What topic is trending? Don’t ever copy or plagiarize their content, but rather personalize your content in your own way.

There is no right way of creating content.  The process should be creative. What is more powerful than the content itself, is the person behind it, and the relationship that you create with people. People relate differently to different people, which is way it is so important to personalize your content.

At the beginning stages of creating content, you are throwing shit against the wall and seeing what sticks. As Bruce Lee once said, Absorb what is useful. Discard what is not. Add what is uniquely your own”. As time goes on, you will gain feedback from others, and then be able to tailor better content towards your target audience.

The journey of content creation is a trial and error process.  Learn from others by observing and seeing what is resonating with them.

A common misconception is that people stop themselves from creating content, because they think their content has to be perfect, but that’s not true. All that matters is that you get started. Content creation is so expensive to outsource.

If you are able to learn content creation skills yourself, you will be able to grow your business exponentially, while saving money. I don’t see any downside to putting yourself in front of the camera and developing your speaking skills.  It will serve you in every aspect of your life.

Creating content forces you to learn and grow more. For myself, it is the most enjoyable aspect of my business and what I spend the majority of my time doing. It has been the #1 thing that has allowed me to create a 7-figure online brand. Educate, inform and inspire your audience with high-quality content.

When you add value, and contribute to the lives of others, in turn, it enhances your life and your business.
