Failure and success go hand in hand.

Unfortunately, a lot of people have a fear of failure. They go to great lengths to ensure that they never make mistakes. Research shows that behind many fears is worry about doing something wrong, looking foolish, or not meeting expectations. When you fail at something it's easy to feel defeated. I've been there.

The line of thinking becomes, “Why should I bother trying if all it's going to result in is a massive failure?” If you fall into this mindset trap, you will end up settling for a life of mediocrity. You will end up sitting on the sidelines of life, watching other people achieve their goals and dreams.

This is why you have to be very careful that you don't link pain to failure. This is what will keep you stuck and unable to move forward in life. I hate to break it to you, but nobody who has achieved massive success in this lifetime by playing it safe and staying in their comfort zone.

Rather, they stretched themselves beyond their limits and did what others weren't willing to do. In short, they took massive action without necessarily knowing what the outcome would be. As an entrepreneur, I know all too well what failure feels like. I have failed thousands of times. However, all of my failures have been blessings in disguise because they've led me down better paths.

For this reason, I would go so far as to say that my failures have been more important than my successes. Experts suggest that failure is actually a good thing because it can inspire us to work harder and ultimately achieve our goals.

The question is, “How was I able to transform my failure to success?”

I started viewing failure as a stepping stone to my success and in turn, I became a master at failing forward. In simple terms, this means learning from what goes wrong so that you don't make the same mistakes again. When I fail, rather than dwelling on my defeat, I'm always finding ways to learn, adapt, and better myself.

You can't do the same thing again and again and expect a different result. Here's the hard truth… if you have yet to achieve your goals in life it's because you stopped believing in yourself. In short, you gave up. I know this may be a hard pill to swallow but the good news is that, at any given moment, you can change your perspective on failure.

Failing at anything in life means that you're in the game! It's not over until you say it's over. When you fail, it's easy to blame others or the external environment. However, the reality is that YOU are the only person who is responsible for your choices. You're not an extra in the movie that is your life. Rather, you're the star of the movie so play the role, and play it to the best of your ability.

This is how to go from failure to success without losing enthusiasm.

Successful people transform setbacks into comebacks, realizing that the game isn't over just because they fall. It doesn't matter how many times you don't get something right. All that matters is that you get back up and keep moving forward.

I promise that if you are committed to not giving up on yourself and your dreams, you will eventually succeed. Denis Waitley said it best – “Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is a delay, not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead end. Failure is something we can avoid only by saying nothing, doing nothing and being nothing.”
