In order to feel accepted and loved by others, a lot of people fall into conditioned patterns of behavior. While this adaptive tactic may have allowed you to survive, it certainly does not allow you to thrive.

Habitual conditioning robs you of your true self.

Unfortunately, a lot of people see the world through the eyes of their conditioned self. When you were younger, you didn't consciously cultivate your beliefs and values. Rather, you grew up with conditioned beliefs that dictated who you were and what you were capable of achieving. As a result, you may have made decisions according to someone else's rules, thereby limiting your opportunities for success.

The good news is that you don't have to hold onto these beliefs for even one day longer. You can break free from them and begin the process of living in alignment with your true self. It starts by retraining your brain.

According to great masters like Lao Tzu or Buddha, most of us move through our lives like sleepwalkers. Living life unconsciously is one of the greatest obstacles to happiness and fulfillment. Conditioning is like a bad habitual cassette tape that is played, 24/7 on autopilot. You need to learn how to disidentify from this tape. It does not represent who you truly are, nor is it a representation of how other people are.

You are not the tape. Rather, you are the tape recorder.

You have the ability to claim your inner power and transform your life. Any fear, doubt, insecurity, or low self-esteem that has been created through negative conditioning no longer has to be a part of your vocabulary. If you want to reprogram yourself, you first need to understand how the mind works.

Your mind has an evolutionary and biological purpose, which is to survive. It wants to keep you safe and away from danger. However, this is where people get into trouble.

According to John Assaraf, the CEO of NeuroGym, when the brain detects that something is happening outside of the normal range, this triggers the brain's “error detection mechanism.” This is your brain's way of protecting you by convincing you to stay in your comfort zone. This is the point at which you need to start the reprogramming process.

The success that I have been able to achieve in life didn't magically show up at my doorstep. It came about because I was committed to reprogramming my limiting beliefs and overcoming my fears. If you want to change your life, you have to be willing to change your conditioning.

As Akosua Dardaine Edwards once said, “Authenticity is about returning and magnifying who you are, instead of trying to become someone who you think you should be. It’s about peeling off the false adornments and standing wholly, holy, and true.” 

This is how to reprogram yourself for success and happiness.

In order to be authentic to your true self, you need to be ready to let go of your conditioned self. Today is your opportunity to decide whomever you want to be. Choose to live in alignment with your true self.
