In this live stream, I would like to share with you how to build a blog that gets 100,000 visitors/month.
I want to share a little bit about my journey building ProjectLifeMastery to where it is today.
In the last month, ProjectLifeMastery received 137,000 unique visitors to the blog and 220,000 page views to the blog.
I have been working on my blog for almost 5 years now.
If you are brand new to blogging, I am going to talk about the value of a blog, how you can get started, and some of the best practices that I have utilized in my business in order to get to where I am today.

If you already have a blog, I’m going to show you how to grow it, take it to the next level, and get more traffic.
I am going to share SEO principles, how to create content, rank it in Google, and how you scale it to the next level.
When I started PLM in January of 2012, I originally started it as a blog, as a way to share my life.
I’ve been involved in self-development since I was 17 years old. I’m so passionate about improving myself.
I realized that, by creating a blog, I could share what I was learning with the world. My intention was to add value to others.
I was also blogging because I found that the process helped me to internalize the things that I was learning.
For example, whenever I read a book or attended a seminar, I would take great notes, and by sharing that knowledge, it not only helped others, but it also helped me master what I was learning on a much deeper level.
Another reason for starting PLM was a way to share my goals. In doing so and making my goals public, it forced me to step up and actually achieve them. I was more accountable to others.
Oftentimes when you set a goal for yourself, you can easily back off. But when you are accountable to others, there is more pressure to follow through.
I am proud to stay that I’ve turned PLM into a 7-figure online brand.
It is important to start a blog and treat it like a business. Take it more seriously than I did, because I wasn’t as consistent as I should have been.
Put the work into it, and understand that, during the initial phases of blogging, you won't see an immediate reward.
Building a business is not like having a job. When you are building a blog, you are building an asset that you wont see a return from for a few months or maybe even a few years.
Today, almost five years later from when I first started PLM, I am now seeing the investment of my time and energy.
If you have that long-term mentality, you will grow your business on a massive scale.
In order to set up a blog, you need:
#1 Blog Name
This is very important because you need to make sure that it is relevant to a specific niche or market that you want to build your blog around.
#2 – Domain name
This is your website address. It’s important that this name is something that people recognize. Make sure that it is attractive, compelling, and not too long.
You want people to remember your brand name in their head. Make sure you can own the .com version of your name in order to protect the brand name.
Also, make sure that you aren’t violating someone else’s trademark. Eventually, you want to trademark your name in order to protect it.
Once you build the value of your brand name, you can think about trademarking it.
The domain name will cost you $10/year and you can register at godaddy.com
#3 – Hosting
You need a service to host your blog on. Usually hosting costs $5/month. Once you build your blog and it is getting a ton of traffic, it will cost more money.
As your blog grows, WP Engine is what I use now, which is $100/month, which is advanced.
#4 – Platform for Blog
I like to use WordPress, in terms of a platform for creating your blog, themes, plugins, etc. It is a free service. There are other platforms you can use, like Wix, but I don’t recommend doing so.
My Top Choice – WordPress
A) Themes
WordPress has free themes or ones that you can buy, which are awesome. It is so easy to create a blog today. Anybody can do it, even if you don’t have technical skills.
The theme and the aesthetics of the blog aren’t that important. So many people get caught up at this stage of their blog. You need to understand that nobody is actually coming to your blog at the beginning stages.
The most important thing on your blog is your content. That is the 80%, whereas the rest is the design and navigation of it.
For example, when I first started my YouTube channel, I had a little digital camera that I put on a stack of books, and I just focused on creating awesome content. Over time, I improved my video quality and blog design.
When designing your blog, I often recommend that you have a simple white layout and invest in a logo and header at the top of your blog.
That’s all you need to get started. When it comes to putting together a design, be aware of the navigation and speed of it
B) Plugins
Another great feature of WordPress is plugins, which are different add-ons and features that you can include on your blog. There are certain ones that are essential, like an opt-in page, analytics, etc.
With WordPress, there is a whole store where you can look at the different plugins that are available. A lot of them are free! Don’t go overboard with plugins because it slows down the speed of your website.
Make sure that you optimize your blog with SEO. Identify the keywords that are relevant to the brand that you are in.
Also, on your blog you will want to include a site map, a privacy policy, cash-in plugin, Google Webmaster tools, etc.
#5 – Content
Content is king. If you look at most of what content is online, its video, which is a powerful way to connect with people.
On a blog, you want to have written content, but you can also embed video onto the blog as well.
For example, I record a video for YouTube, and I then have it transcribed, and turned into a blog post.
I have a great team that helps me with this process so that I can focus on creating content.
Having systems is important so that you can automate your business and scale up, so that you are working ON the business, not IN it.
Creating systems is the reason why I have been able to scale my business to where it is today. The more time you can create content, the more you will grow.
There are different ways of creating content. You can create it, outsource content, or you can recruit contributors to your blog that will contribute content to you.
In exchange, they get a back link, which will help them build their blog as well.
I recommend that you create content yourself. It has to be high quality in order to attract people. A big mistake that people make when blogging is that they do the bare minimum.
When you have epic content, people will follow and subscribe to you, and consume more as time goes on.
Once you monetize, they will buy a product or service from you because you have added value and built a relationship with them. They will trust you.
You can outsource people, but it will be expensive for the level of content that you want.
You need to understand that you are doing yourself a disservice because you are holding yourself back from improving your writing skills.
How Do You Promote Your Blog?
SEO
You want to make sure that you optimize your content for the search engines. People are searching for different keywords in search engines.
In whatever niche or market that you are in, you want to identify the top keywords that people are searching for.
For example, if you are in the fitness niche, people are probably searching for “how to lose weight naturally”.
There are short tail keywords and long tail keywords. Short tail might be one or two words, whereas long tail keywords might be 4, 5, or 6 words.
The shorter the keyword is, the more broad its going to be, whereas the longer the keyword is, the more targeted its going to be, because its much more specific.
Short tail keywords are harder to rank for, so going after the long tail keywords are easier.
When you create your content, be mindful of the keyword and optimize your article for that keyword. Make sure that it's in the title and body of the blog post.
Also, it's important to utilize latent semantics indexing, which is different variations of the keyword, because Google and other search engines are very smart.
Share Your Blog
Have multiple social media platforms set up so that you can share your content. There are so many ways for people to consume content.
For example, if you have a YouTube video or a podcast, you can embed them within your blogs. You want to be everywhere.
Also, leverage other people’s traffic. Approach other blogs and platforms that are in the niche or market that you are in, and provide quality for them, in exchange for them promoting you.
Call to Action
A call to action is the next step for people that want to learn more. For example, in this video, I am providing content for you, but there will be a certain percentage of you that want to know more.
It's important to provide an opportunity for the people to learn more. Make sure that you are always promoting something on your blog.
Free Give Away’s
Always look to see where people’s attention goes to on a blog. A lot of blogs have their logo as the big thing, but nobody really cares. You want your logo to be small.
Instead, you want to direct people to subscribe to your email list. Ninety-nine percent of people that come to your blog won't come back.
You want to add value to people. Have something that you can give away for free. That will attract people’s attention.
For example, if you go to my website, what is the first thing that gets your attention?
It’s the big blue banner where I give away free content, and you need to click the button in order to receive that free content.
I have my CTA on the side bar and on my footer. Keep in mind that if you don’t get people to subscribe, they won't benefit from what you want to share.
You could also put pop-up’s on your blog, which is another way to increase the # of subscribers that you can get. The best pop-up is OptinMonster, which is what I use.

My Q&A Live Stream Responses:
Do you need extra capital after purchasing AMM in order to make money?
You do need some money in order to build your blog, but it’s very little in comparison to most businesses. The main expenses are that you need to purchase a domain name, which is $10/year, hosting for your blog, which is as low as $5/month.
Beyond that, WordPress is free, social media platforms are free. Eventually, you will want to invest in setting up your email list. Only do this when you are getting consistent traffic. Focus first on creating content.
Do you have Project Life Mastery designers that help improve your current WordPress site
I have developers that work in my business, but I show you how you can find your own within my AMM course. It’s pretty straightforward. I’m not a big fan of sharing people on my team.
I work to show you how to build your team – how to hire, train and develop people, so that you can grow and scale your business.
Who is your target audience on YouTube?
My market is broad – anybody that wants to master and improve every aspect of his/her life. This is my passion.
I have learned that your happiness, your health, and your relationships are far more important than money.
What makes me different is that every course and product that I create focuses on your psychology and mindset. I’ve recognized that what often holds people back is applying it and committing to mastery.
I teach the mastery mentality, which everybody needs to develop in order to be successful in your life and business. Most people are dabblers, who don’t fully commit.
There are three levels of mastery – knowing, doing and living. You may know it, but if you aren’t doing it and living it, you don’t know it.
The dabbler thinks they know everything, so they never master anything. When you live something, you are achieving results and doing things consistently. This is what I focus on in my business.
What are some of the best up-and-coming niches to get into in terms of helping profit and building a brand?
You want to make sure that you have an interest or a passion around the niches that you are building your blog around.
You have to enjoy the process. For myself, I have no problem creating content for the niche that I am in because I love it.
The biggest niches are health, wealth and relationships. Each of those niches has sub-niches. For example, you could break health down into fat loss, raw food diets, vegan, paleo diets, etc.
I don’t want to be constrained to one small niche. What do you suggest I do?
When it comes to choosing a niche, you can go broad or more niche. The more niche you are, the more targeted you are, but you need to focus on what works best for you.
What is the best lesson you have learned about online business?
You don’t want to re-invent the wheel. Whenever I want to learn something, I find other people that have the result that I want, that I can learn from, and I invest in that.
Over time, I have learned that, in order to be successful, I need to commit to mastery.
Is it better to be in a bigger niche or a smaller one?
Bigger ones have more potential, so it depends on what your goals are.
Are you ready to build a blog that gets 100,000+ visitors per month? The world is waiting. Get started now!
