Passion is what initially creates attraction in a relationship.
People often tend to think of passion in terms of a healthy sex life, but it is so much more than that.
Passion is foundational to a satisfying and healthy long-term relationship.
Although it may fade at different times in a relationship, there are things that you can do in order to reignite the spark.
You need to understand that there are two different energies at play between a man and a woman – the masculine and the feminine.

Every man and woman has different levels of both masculine and feminine energies, but there is always one that is a more dominant force.
In the words of Tony Robbins, “In any relationship where there is sexual attraction and deep intimate connection — you’ll find the power of opposite energies at play.”
The masculine side is direct, driven, protective, competitive, and solution-focused, whereas the feminine side is more spontaneous, flowing, expressive, intuitive, and collaborative.
The concept of “opposites attract” states that the more different someone is from you, the more attractive they are to you sexually.
This sexual polarity is what creates attraction and passion between two people.
In his book, The Way of the Superior Man, David Deida describes that there lies a deep, magnetic attraction between masculine and feminine energy (no matter who those energies live inside of).
In other words, when a woman is being extra feminine, it attracts a man sexually, and when a man is being extra masculine, it attracts a woman sexually.
It is important to realize that a man may have a feminine side and a woman may have a masculine side.
As long as one partner is willing to embody the masculine, while the other embodies the feminine, a healthy and balanced relationship will exist.
If two people are both in their masculine or both in their feminine, conflict will ensue, which is why it is important to communicate with your partner what mode you are in.
Below are three stages of development that men can pull upon in order to reclaim their masculine energy:
Presence
When you give your undivided attention to your beloved, she feels safe, supported, and loved. The two of you become connected, in your mind, body, and soul.
Claim
This involves letting your beloved know that you are dedicated and devoted to her and your relationship.
Tell her that you are with her fully, and that she is yours, 100%.
Penetration
This involves feeling what your beloved feels. It is as if you are inside of her, and you are fully connected, as one.
Below are three stages of development that women can pull upon in order to reclaim their feminine energy:
Invitation
When a man shows a woman presence and a woman is gifted with undivided attention, she is encouraged to open herself to her partner. She invites him into her heart.
Surrender
When a man claims his love for a woman, it inspires her to trust the direction of their relationship, and she responds by surrendering to him.
She removes the barriers that hold her back from fully inviting his claim.
Expression
When a man freely demonstrates his love for his partner, it allows a woman to feel comfortable to express her emotions.
She is able to tell her partner what it is that she wants and needs in the relationship.
When a woman is in her full feminine expression, a man is able to fully embody his masculine.
