7 Ways To Have More Energy

I want to share with you 7 ways to have more energy in your life right NOW.

We all want and need more energy. Energy is life. Anything that you want in life is going to require that you have an abundance of energy.

The challenge is that most people know what they have to do in order to have more energy, but don’t value their body to the full extent. If they did, they would stop putting things into their body that drain their energy – alcohol, junk food, substances, etc.

When I discovered the value of energy and learned how to master it, it allowed me to transform everything else in my life.

Make energy more important than ever before. Your behaviours always follow your beliefs. Change your mentality about health, and believe that your body is your temple. I treat my body as if it were a Lamborghini – an incredible, high performance machine.

If you had a car like this, would you put crappy fuel into it?  No. You would put the best fuel in it, even though it may cost you more money. Below are 7 ways to have more energy.  You may know some of these principles. Keep in mind that knowing is the first level, but it’s not enough.  You need to take action.

Mastery requires repetition.  If you are already following these principles, keep going!

#1 – Master Your Breath

We can live weeks without food and days without water, but we can only live a few minutes without oxygen. It is a requirement to be alive. Our 75 trillion cells require oxygen. A lot of people practice shallow breathing when they are stressed or experiencing anxiety, which makes them feel tired.

When you yawn, it is your body’s natural response that you need more oxygen. You need to practice deep, diaphragmatic breathing.  As part of my morning routine, I spend a few minutes every day practicing deep breathing.

#2 – Drink More Water

You drink water already, because 70% of your body is made up of it, but most people are chronically dehydrated. Moreover, a lot of people consume foods and liquids that are dehydrating. A good indicator to find out if you are drinking enough water is that if you feel thirsty and your mouth feels dry, you are dehydrated.

Don’t ever get to this point. I have a water bottle with me, at all times, no matter what I am doing. This means that I go to the bathroom more, but that's great, because it allows my body to flush out more toxins.

If your urine is dark yellow, that is an indicator that you are severely dehydrated. Your urine should be clear, unless you consume a lot of vitamins. The quality of your water is important.  Put a lemon or a lime in your water, in order to alkalize it.

#3 – Consume Raw, Live Foods

If you want to be alive, you need to consume more live foods. A lot of people cook their food.  That's OK, but the challenge is that, when you do so, you are killing the enzymes and nutrients from the food.

If you are going to cook your food a lot, make sure that you include more raw food in your diet. There is an energetic value that you can obtain from raw vegetables, fruits, and sprouts.

#4 – Juice/Cleanse

Juice your vegetables and fruit.  When you do so, you are giving your body so much goodness. I juice every morning.  It gives me so much energy AND my body doesn’t have to digest it.

When you do a juice cleanse, I can’t even explain the peak, high level of energy that it creates in your mind, body, and soul. The #1 expenditure of energy is digestion. It drains you.  A lot of people consume junk foods that their bodies can’t digest.

Cleansing helps your body to have more energy. Every year, I do 15 day juice fast and cleanse. On a daily basis, I do intermittent fasting, which means that for 16 hours out of the day, I’m fasting, other than water. I have an 8-hour window, where I consume my calories. When you I do this, my stomach gets more full, faster.

By skipping a meal at breakfast, I have more energy. The morning is when I am most productive, because my body doesn’t have to digest anything. I have my first meal around noon.  When I eat, my energy drops a little bit.

Journal throughout the day exactly how you feel before, during, and after a meal.  You will learn a lot about how the foods in your body effect how you feel.

#5 – Move More

We were not made to sit all day. We were made to move. When you are sitting, that is when you feel the most tired. Get up and get moving! I got a Lifespan Treadmill Desk, which was one of the best investments I’ve ever made.

Movement gives me more life and energy, and it allows me to consume more oxygen. Every day I go for a run and do aerobic exercise, which increases the number of red blood cells in my body, which also gives me more energy.

#6 – Sleep More

Make sure that you rest so that you can recover and go full power, every day. A lot of studies think that you need 7-8 hours of sleep.  I think its dependent on your lifestyle. How many hours of sleep do you need in order to perform at your absolute best?

I think that the quality matters more than the length. You could sleep 8 hours, but still wake up tired. You need to go into a deep sleep, otherwise known as a REM cycle. Before you go to bed, make sure that you aren’t on your phone or watching TV, because the light from it will prevent your body from releasing melatonin, which helps you fall asleep.

I also recommend that you avoid a blue tooth close to your bed. Many people sleep with their alarm clock next to their bed, which emit EMFs, which can lower the quality of your sleep. Put your iPhone or iPad on airplane mode.

#7 – Master Your Mindset

Your mindset is your ultimate source of energy. Your emotional state, regardless of sleep or food, can give you an abundance of energy. There have been times in my life where I didn’t get any sleep or I ate too much, but my mindset is what pushed me through a challenging time.

If you have a 9-5 job and you want more energy, master your mind. Your mindset comes down to your beliefs. Limiting beliefs can deplete your energy, whereas positive beliefs elevate your energy.

Your goals, dreams, vision, and purpose is what motivates and gives you energy. In the words of Anthony Robbins, “The higher your energy level, the more efficient your body.  The more efficient your body, the better you feel, and the more you will use your talent to produce outstanding results.”

If you follow these 7 ways to have more energy, your life will change for the better.
