My 2014 Year In Review: Successes, Celebrations & Lessons Learned

I have created a new and improved version of K Money Mastery which is called, Mastering Book Publishing!

At the end of each year, I always make sure to take some time to reflect back on the previous year.

I do this for two reasons:

1. To acknowledge all of the successes and accomplishments of the year.  By celebrating all of your “wins”, it gives you more certainty towards achieving your future goals.  Not only that, but it feels damn good and you get to feel proud of yourself!

2. To carefully review all of the failures, challenges and goals that I came up short on.  What can I learn from these experiences?  What good can come from it?  By finding the positive and the lessons learned, those challenges then become your asset.  This will ensure you don't make the same mistakes or experience the same challenges/failures for your upcoming year.

What gets rewarded, gets repeated.  Success breeds more success.

In this video blog, you will see me reflect back and list all of the successes, celebrations and lessons learned from 2014.

There is A LOT more that has happened for me in 2014, but this list is what I came up with during an hour of reflecting back through journals and thinking about my year.  I'm probably missing a lot, but these are the highlights.

This “Year In Review” video blog will also include my Monthly Goals Report for December 2014, as I give an update on my goals and progress made during December.  There was just no need to make another video blog for that.

Top Lessons Learned And Breakthroughs

These are some of the biggest lessons learned and breakthroughs of 2014.

  • Your time is your most valuable asset.  Always focus on automating, leveraging and outsourcing as much as possible so that you can free up your time to focus on the highest leverage activities.
  • Always focus on the most important goal or task, one at a time.  Try to avoid multi-tasking and focusing on too many things at once, which will lead to overwhelm.  Instead, focus on one thing at a time until competition, then move onto the next.
  • Don't get caught up in negative comments or what other people think.  Trust yourself, know that you're doing good and keep going.
  • Proactively manage your life and your time.  Plan out the week in advance, schedule things and don't waiver from your commitments.  Time management is one of the most important skills you can master.
  • The training never stops if you want an extraordinary life!  Always remember that mastery requires continually learning and self-growth.  It never ends.
  • Procrastination, depression, or any negative emotion or behaviour is just a HABIT.  It's a pattern, nothing more.  It's not YOU.  You developed it as a habit, which means that you can change it.
  • You are nothing more than your rituals and habits.  Change what you do consisnelty every day and it will change your life.
  • Love, Contribution and Growth are my top needs that I want to live my life by.  Significance and Certainty never brings any lasting joy or fulfillment, as you always compare yourself to others and it will never be enough.  You'll also always have to focus on controlling everything in your life, which is impossible.  The real fulfillment comes from Love, Contribution and Growth.
  • What you get will never make you happy, it's about who you become in the pursuit of your goals.  Gratitude, love, happiness, excitement, pride, giving… these are the most powerful emotions that need to be cultivated on a daily basis if you want an extraordinary life.  Remember, the quality of your life is the quality of your emotions.
  • Don't wait for moments in the future to be happy – be happy right now and enjoy each moment fully!
  • Get out of the house more and socialize.  Just being outside and with the world will positively impact you.
  • Don't be so hard on yourself.  Give yourself a break and practice self-compassion and love.
  • Money is only a reflection of your creativity and your capacity to add value to the world.  The more you focus on adding value and helping others, the more money you will make.
  • Health is #1.  It is a MUST to take care of your body everyday if you want to be happy and live long.
  • The secret to living is giving.  Make your focus in life on adding value to others and you'll have no worries.
  • Anticipation is power.  If you can effectively anticipate the future of your market, business or potential problems down the road, then it will save you a lot of pain.
  • Find new hobbies and activities to give you joy.  Yoga, muay thai, sports, spending time with friends… these nourish your spirit and soul.
  • Make sure to prepare effectively at the beginning of the year and do as much as you can, so that you can achieve all of your goals for the year.  Proper planning and anticipating things coming up is key.

Overall, 2014 was a remarkable year!  It's amazing how much progress you can make by setting goals and working hard towards achieving them.

2015 is going to be an even better year!  I look forward to sharing with you my 2015 goals and resolutions.
