The Power Of Anticipation: How To Handle Problems Before They Arise

I want to talk to you about the power of anticipation and how to handle problems before they arise.

It is so important that you look forward and prepare for the unexpected, because there are going to be crises that arise in your life that shake you to your core.

Things happen in life that are outside of your control, related to the economy, personal finances, relationships, health, work, etc.

I recently returned from Tony Robbins’ Business Mastery Seminar in Vegas, where he talked about the 7 Triggers of Business Crisis. I wanted to share these with you because they are important lessons to learn.

Tony Robbins expressed that change is inevitable in life and in business. Change is the ONLY constant.

Anytime there is change, there is a new challenge that arises, but the good news is that you can shift the way that you perceive these challenges, and see them as opportunities and gifts for growth.

Below are the 7 triggers that will cause crisis. In order to be successful, you need to anticipate these changes, instead of reacting to them.

#1 Change in Technology

Technology is changing and evolving every day. For example, virtual reality is changing the world.  If you want to be successful in business, you need to be one step ahead and anticipate technology trends.

# 2 Change in Competition

If you have a great business, but all of a sudden a new competitor joins the market that offers something better than you, it can change everything.  How are you going to stay one step ahead of your competition?

# 3 Change in Culture

As a business owner, you need to stay on stop of shifts in cultural trends and behaviours.  How will those shifts affect you, your team, and/or your customers?

#4 Change in Economy

Financial crises occur, so you need to be prepared for that.  Ask yourself, if this occurs, how would this effect my business?

#5 A Change in Customers Lives

How you will market your services and continue providing value to the next generation of customers?  Do your research and find out what is driving customer needs.

#6 A Change in Employees Lives

How will you continue to support your employees so that they stay motivated and inspired to work for you? Do they still believe in what you are doing, and if not, what can you do to change that?

#7 A Change in Your Life Stage

Life happens, and sometimes we aren’t prepared for it. Changes in your personal life can trigger massive changes in your business, and so it is imperative that you prepare for the inevitable.

In the words of Charles Darwin –  “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change”.

What do you do when change occurs? The reality is that if you do not adapt, you will get left behind.

Ask yourself questions – What do I need to anticipate? How is the world going to change?

If you want to be successful, you need to anticipate challenges.

Reflect, do your research, and take action!

Hey, everyone!  Stefan here from ProjectLifeMastery.com. In this video, I want to talk to you about the power of anticipation.  To be able to anticipate and see the road ahead. To be able to prepare.  In life, in your business, in your personal life, and in every aspect of your life, there are going to be problems and challenges.

There is going to be adversity that is going to come up, and it's going to rock you to your core. I can almost guarantee you that, no matter how great your life is right now, no matter how well that you are doing, or maybe no matter how poorly that you are doing right now, there is a big problem, challenge, or some adversity that is coming your way.

I'm not trying to be negative.  I'm just being realistic that problems are coming.  There are things that are going to happen in life that are outside of your control. There are going to be changes, and things are going to happen in your business, in your personal life, or maybe in your health and your body.

Or maybe in your relationship, your friendships, your finances, in the the economy – there's always going to be problems and adversities that are going to show up. Maybe there will be changes with someone in your life that you love.  Im not saying that they would, but maybe someone lies to you, cheats you, steals from you, or somebody dies.

These are all things that we have to look forward to.   Again, I'm not trying to be negative. I'm just trying to be realistic, because if you can understand this, have awareness of this, and can anticipate, then you have the ultimate advantage. These problems, challenges, and adversities can actually become gifts.

In this video, I want to talk to you about how you can anticipate change.  I was at Tony Robins' Business Mastery seminar in Las Vegas recently.  During the seminar he talked about what he calls the “7 triggers of crisis”. This is more for business, but it can be applied to any area of your life.

Change is inevitable

You've got to understand that, in your life and in your business, change is inevitable. Okay? The world is changing. The world is evolving. You have to understand the cycle. The cycle of change is that, anytime you make a change in your life or you make a change in your business or something changes in the economy or something changes, there's a new problem.  That's just how it works.

Every time you solve that problem and you make a change, then a new problem arises from that as well. It's a cycle. Problems are here to stay. They are not going away. There is always going to be a problem and an adversity, but you can change the way you perceive them. Perceiving them is a problem. You can change it.

Maybe you can start perceiving problems as challenges.  Maybe you can start to see problems as opportunities and gifts, and see them as learning opportunities.  If you learn, then it becomes your asset. It becomes something that you look forward to.

I've got here the 7 triggers of crisis.  Any of these 7 triggers will basically cause crisis in your life and in your business. You've got to be able to anticipate for it. The first is a change in technology. Change in technology. We can all agree that technology is changing, and technology is evolving. There are more social media platforms that are occurring.

Business models are changing because of technology. The world is changing in so many ways because of technology. To give you guys an example of what's coming, virtual reality is already becoming popular, but it's changing the world in the way that we consume and live.  Our lives are going to radically shift because, if you can put on a headset and consume things virtually, you can go to a concert or a a sporting event, and you could be in the front row at the fraction of the cost and still be able to have an incredible experience.

Technology is changing

Virtual reality is one. Another one is autonomous cars. That is changing the world because, especially within the next 5 or 10 years, people might not have a reason to drive cars. Right?  If you can have a car that can drive on autopilot, then what is that going to do for the transportation industry?

If you are 1 of the 30,000 truck drivers in the United States, you may be replaced by technology.  Having a car that can drive a truck 24 hours a day without sleep, rest, or any breaks, and that can occur without any part of human error  is huge.  I heard a statistic that the technology of new cars are actually going to save thousands of lives every year that get killed, just through poor judgment, drinking and driving or whatever it is.

It is really going to change things in many ways. If you are a truck driver, and you are not anticipating that change, there is going to be a crisis. You are going to be out of a job. You are going to suffer because you didn't anticipate. If you have an online business, you've got to understand that there is new technology that’s emerging.

New software, products, programs, websites, Snapchat, and social media – all these different things are changing. You've got to be able to anticipate those changes and you've got to be one step ahead. You've got to be prepared for that because, if you are not, you are going to be out of business. If you look at Blockbuster, a multibillion dollar company, they are renting out movies.

They didn't anticipate the changes that would happen and Netflix comes along and Blockbuster actually had a chance to buy Netflix and said no. Sure enough, Blockbuster is now out of business. Netflix is a multibillion dollar brand, because Blockbuster didn't anticipate. If you look at Airbnb, Uber, or any of the other platforms that exist today, it's all about a shift in how the world is changing and evolving.  That is why you have got to anticipate technology. Another trigger of crisis is a change in competition.

Competition can create crisis

If you've got a great business or whatever it is and all of sudden a big competitor comes into the market, it can change the whole game.  When Richard Branson released Virgin Airline, it had a totally different angle and it totally shifted the game.  Again, going back to the example of Blockbuster or Netflix.  Netflix was a competitor who totally shifted the game. Competition can create crisis. A change in the culture in terms of your team, your employees, or the culture of your customers can change.  There can be a change in economy.  Recessions are predictable.  Recession's happen.

There is going to be another recession. You've got to be prepared for that. You've got to be prepared financially for that. You've got to be prepared for a change in the housing market and in the stock market.  These are all things that are going to change. There is going to be a crisis. There is going to be a change in your customer's lives. There is going to be a change in your employee's lives. There is going to be a change in your life.

All these different things are going to create a crisis.  Again, it's about being realistic. What do you do?  What do you when all these changes occur?  The world doesn't just stay stagnant.

It's always growing. It's always evolving in different ways. Like I said, if you can anticipate and you can evolve, then it can actually be a huge advantage for you that you can prosper from. Right? The people that do not adapt are the ones that get left behind.

There's a great quote by Charles Darwin who said, “It's not the strongest of the species that survive, but it is he who is the most adaptable to change”.  Very important. It's not the smartest, it's not the strongest, it's he who is the most adaptable to change. Very important.

You have got to be able to adapt. The people that don't adapt are the ones that lose. The ones that always adapt are the ones that stay on top. If you look at an online business, the publishing business on Amazon, it changes and evolves. I'm always evolving with it. I'm always one step ahead of the game.

You always got to be one step ahead

I'm able to anticipate, “Okay. This is going to change. This is how it's going to happen. If you're using this shortcut or this loophole, it's not going to work long-term so you've to be able to adapt and evolve with the changes that occur,” and that occurs in any business. You always got to be one step ahead. Understanding that is the ultimate power.

The way that you anticipate is you ask yourself questions. You have got to ask yourself, what's coming? How is the world going to change? Be aware of the latest technology. Be aware of the economy. Being aware that things like that that are going to happen. Be aware that, if you don't take care of your body, there's a risk of disease, cancer, diabetes, or heart disease.

You have got to anticipate that. If you anticipate that if you keep eating junk food, you are going to die young and get sick, then you can make a change today that can prevent that problem from occurring.

Financially, if you can anticipate that there is going to be a crash, and that the economy is going to change, than you won't be devastated when that occurs. People that anticipate say, “Okay, the market's going to go down. Why don't I put money aside so that when it actually crashes, I could take advantage of that and I can buy low.  I can buy all the stock and I can become a millionaire”.

Just like that. People that anticipated the 2007-2008 crash and had money aside, were prepared for it.  They didn't sell, they bought more.  Those people are rich now because they anticipated the problem and the challenges that occurred. Right? This is so important.  I hope that my passion on this topic really comes through to you.

Being able to see the road ahead and prepare is going to save you a lot of pain. That is going to save you a lot of suffering. Preparation is the ultimate. Prepare now as much as possible. Put money aside.

Think of the worst possible circumstances that can happen

Diversify your income. Diversify your business. Have a publishing business, have a blog, and then have an affiliate marketing business so that you are protected. You are anticipating challenges that can occur and you are going to be ready for it.  You are going to be ready for the challenges.

I'm going to build the foundation and make sure that Im mentally, emotionally and physically strong so that I'm prepared for the changes that occur. I'm ready to take advantage of it, because the ones that take advantage of it are the ones that prosper. You want to be on the winning end of the deal. You want to be the one that's proactive, not reactive. The reactive person loses. The proactive person always wins.

If you want to be a winner, you have got to anticipate. I'm going to end this video here, but hopefully you enjoyed it. Hopefully this will benefit you in some way. Make sure you like the video.
