ABOUT AMAZON FBA

Difficulty Level:
Newbie Friendly*

Amazon FBA is newbie friendly, with the right training and guidance.  It doesn't require any previous online marketing or business experience.  However, without a good training program or guidance, I would consider Amazon FBA to be more “intermediate” or even “advanced,” as there are a lot more logistics in it.

Startup Costs: $500+

The average startup costs for selling physical products on Amazon is around $500.  Most people think a lot of money is required to get started, but it's simply not true.  Depending on the product you decide to sell, you can find suppliers or manufacturers to make a product for you and start with an inventory of only 100 units.  The other main startup costs would be getting a logo and label/packaging designed, which can also be done relatively inexpensively.

Avg. Timeframe: 3 months

The average timeframe before someone can realistically expect to make money on Amazon is within 3 months.  It can take time to find a product to sell and communicate back and forth with potential suppliers.  Often there is some “waiting around” as you await samples to arrive from suppliers so that you can test the product before selling it.  There's also a period of “waiting around” for suppliers to manufacture andthe product, as well as shipping your inventory to Amazon's fulfillment centers.

Potential: $10,000,000+/year

The potential of an Amazon business is an eight-figure income, over $10,000,000+/year.   There is a great potential to even begin selling your products outside of Amazon and on your own website/store, as well as getting your product into offline retailers.

Passive: Yes

Selling on Amazon can be a passive business model and create a passive income stream.  However, it's always advised that you never fully neglect your online business as there's always potential changes that can occur online and you'd always want to keep an eye on your business.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

These are some of the most frequently asked questions that I get about selling on Amazon.

Q: Can I sell on Amazon if I live outside of the United States?

A: Yes, you can sell on Amazon no matter where you currently live in the world.

Keep in mind, the biggest market with the largest potential to make money from is on Amazon.com (in the USA).  However, no matter where you live in the world, you can still ship and sell your products on Amazon.com (in the USA) and make money from it.

Q: Can I sell an Amazon product in countries outside of the USA?

A: Yes, you can sell an Amazon product on ANY of Amazon's websites and countries that they permit, such as Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.ca, Amazon.de, Amazon.com.br, Amazon.cn, Amazon.com.au, etc…

To do this, you will need to ship your product to Amazon's fulfillment centers in that country and set up the appropriate Amazon Seller Central account.

Q: I have an idea of a product to sell on Amazon… will it work?

A: If you have an idea for a product, then the ONLY way of knowing whether it'll be successful or not is by doing market research.   Many people believe that their product idea is great and that everyone would buy it, but the truth is, you're just guessing.  Guessing is not an intelligent way to start a business.

It's always best to do market research and identify first and foremost what people are currently buying on Amazon.  Identify a market and what is in high demand.  You also need to research the competition and make sure the market isn't too competitive.  By spending the time to do proper market research, you can ensure that your product will be successful on Amazon and be able to get in front of potential customers.

Q: How long will it take me to earn $X?

A: It's impossible to say because this is dependent on several factors, such as your product, the market, the demand for the product, competition, how much time you spend, how hard you work, etc…

Everyone achieves success at different times.  It's not good to compare yourself to others.  Work hard and focus on achieving your goals, making progress, and doing the best you can.

Q: How many products do I need to sell to earn $X?

A: It's impossible to say as it's not about how many products you're selling.  One product can earn you $1,000 a month or $1,000,000 a month.  It entirely depends on the product, how big the potential of the market is, how effectively you market it, among other factors.

Q: Should I sell on Amazon without investing in training?

A: I personally would not recommend it.  I got started with private labelling and selling on Amazon with the training of the Amazing Selling Machine.  Without that program guiding me step-by-step, despite my years of online marketing and business experience, I would have been lost.  There are many logistics to building a successful Amazon business, as well as more money required to invest, so I would not take a risk and attempt to build an Amazon business without a good training program.

Q: Is Amazon saturated?

A: No, there are many opportunities to sell products and make money on Amazon.  Amazon is growing every month, the opportunity and potential are there.  However, there is competition, no doubt.

Competition should never worry you because your focus should be on building a brand and long-term success.  If you just get into something to attempt to “get rich quick,” then you will fail over the long run.  Instead, focus on building a sustainable, long-term business and you will be able to profit and succeed, regardless of competition.

As one of my favorite sayings goes, “Don't worry about competition, let competition worry about you.”

Q: What is the best way for me to get started with Amazon FBA?

A: The best way that I know of to get started selling on Amazon is with an online training program called the Amazing Selling Machine.

I started my own Amazon business with the training and guidance of the Amazing Selling Machine and I've been on the record of saying it's the best online training program I've ever been through.  ASM has now become the #1 online training program of all time (created by Amazing.com), with more success stories than any other course or product online.  I've been to their live events and seminars and met many Amazon millionaires because of their great course.  There's a reason why Richard Branson (billionaire founder of Virgin) and Robert Kiyosaki (author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad) endorse their program and even speak at their events – because the program is Amazing!
