The Truth About Success Revealed

the truth about success

What is the truth about what it really takes to succeed?  Most people have no idea, as if they did, they would be successful.

I came across a powerful video that really sums up what it takes to be successful.  I can relate to this video, as I've made many sacrifices and put in countless hours of hard work to get to where I am in my life today.  This is something that all successful people that I know of have in common.  If you're wondering about the truth of what it really takes to achieve success, then this video should inspire and motivate you.

Check out the video below:

What Does It REALLY Take To Be Successful?

When you ask people if they want to be successful, most will respond, “Of course I do!”  But the truth is, most people DO NOT WANT TO BE SUCCESSFUL.  Why?  Because most people have many negative inner conflicts that are holding them back and preventing them from success.

If you're currently struggling and not getting the results you want out of life, it's because you WANT success.  If you truly want to be successful, then WANTING is not enough – you must be COMMITTED to being successful.

People that are successful are COMMITTED to success.  People that struggle and get no results only WANT success.

When someone is committed to success, they'll do whatever it takes.  This is the attitude that I had years ago and it transformed my life.  When people say, “I want to be successful”, what they're really saying is, “I'll take it if it falls in my lap.”  Wanting alone is useless.  Wanting something rarely ever leads to “having”.  How do I know this?  Because millions of people around the world WANT success, yet very few HAVE it.

Committing yourself to success means you hold nothing back and give 100% of what you've got.  It means you're willing to do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes.  No excuses, ifs, ands, or buts – and failure is NOT an option.

Are you willing to make sacrifices in your life?  People that are successful are.

Are you willing to give up your weekends and work 16 hours a day?  People that are successful are.

Are you willing to invest money into yourself through coaching and seminars?  People that are successful are.

Are you willing to eat ketchup and mustard sandwiches to save money?  People that are successful have.

Are you willing to take risks?  People that are successful are.

That's it.  That's what it comes down to.  It's the truth about success.

In my book Life Mastery, I talk about how I was willing to live in my friends living room for a year so that I could get ahead.  I've once worked 48 hours straight once without sleeping (only to take bathroom breaks and to eat pre-made sandwiches).  I've worked many Friday and Saturday nights to get ahead in my businesses, while my friends were going out and partying.  I followed a strict diet for 6 months straight while preparing for a fitness competition, having to miss out on eating out with friends or drinking.  I even shared dorm rooms with people in parts of the world, working on a bunk bed until 4AM while everyone else was sleeping or out partying.  I've made many sacrifices to get to where I am today and it's all been worth it.

What are you willing to do?  Are you going to be the type of person that WANTS success or is COMMITTED to it?

Choose wisely.

Great post. I agree that one must be COMMITTED to having something or committed to being someone rather than just wanting it.

Thanks for sharing. I have been using this video in a psychology course I teach for the past 3 years. My students love it and feel that they can accomplish more if they stopped using excuses and laying around all day. Happy New Year!

I REALLY appreciate your post. I am smack dab in the middle of pursuing my dreams and it is getting tough and the doubts are starting to creep in so this is exactly what I needed to hear today. Thanks Stefan, I am a huge fan!

    Hi Stefan,
This is so powerful that I’m adding it to my hour of power everyday. I’m going to delete something else that I’m done with and replace it with this. As usual, you’re right on target with knowing what things are powerful and worth sharing. Love you! (don’t worry, I’m old enough to be your mother)

Thanks for this post Stefan. This is where the rubber meets the road. We can either live with pain of sacrifice and discipline and eventually “enjoy” the rewards that it brings. Or, we “will live” with the pain of regret for not having tried, and there’s probably no pain relieving medication that will ever take that kind of pain away.
