The 4-hour work week changed my life.

Tim Ferriss was the first to introduce this concept in his book, The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere and Join The New Rich. If you haven't already, I highly recommend that you read it. This book shifted my entire perspective on work and business.

Over the last 30 days, I've been traveling around South America, in particular, Argentina, Chile, and Bolivia. None of this would have been possible had I not built a successful online business that makes me money while I sleep. 

Is this the 4-hour work week sustainable over the long-term? Not exactly. Let me explain. In order for a business to thrive, it has to grow and improve. The Internet is constantly changing. If you're not evolving with it, you will get left behind.

When I'm traveling the world and working 4-hour work weeks, I'm in maintenance mode, meaning that my business isn't really growing.

Rather, it's just maintaining the growth that I've already established.

If you operate in this mode for too long, you will find that your business and income will slowly decline. However, you can prevent this from happening if you have a CEO or some sort of manger that can focus on growing the business without you.

When you are building an online business, the beginning stages are always the hardest. You will go through a massive learning curve because everything is new. Hence, it will take time.

However, once you have built up your brand and created a solid media presence online, your business will become an asset.

Let me give you an example. I have put a lot of work into building my YouTube channel. As a result, I could take 1-3 months off from publishing videos and I would still be able to maintain the number of views that I receive. Those views produce revenue for me and they allow me to promote and sell my products.

Unfortunately, a lot of people never end up reaping the rewards of their assets. They give up because they don't want to invest the time that is required to get there. You've got to ask yourself how bad you want success.

It starts with knowing the kind of lifestyle that you want.

I have always wanted financial freedom, which is why the 4-hour work week was so appealing to me. This lifestyle was fun for a few months. However, eventually, I got bored because I wasn't living on purpose. 

It's important to realize that purpose isn't something that others choose for you; it is something that you choose for yourself. It emerges from an exploration of what matters to you. When you figure out what it is that you love, your work will never feel like work.
