To a lot of people, this can make a huge difference in their lives. When you're in a financially tough situation, everything can feel overwhelming. In this state of mind, it can be hard to know where to start. If you're in need of extra money, you've come to the right place. Here are 7 ways to make extra money from home.
1. Be A Beta Tester
This means that you get paid for testing, reviewing and giving feedback to companies' products or services. There are a few companies that I suggest you work with. With each company, you complete a set of short tasks and earn money for doing so. Some of the projects pay up to $90 per test! This is a quick and easy way to make extra money.
2. Be a Freelancer on Fiverr.com
There is a great website called Fiverr.com where companies hire freelancers to do work for them. You can get paid as low as $5 to $100+, depending on what the tasks are. I suggest that you browse their job categories and see which jobs align with your strengths.
Some of them require a specific skill set and/or expertise. However, others do not. Make sure that you have a great image and description on your profile. The more reviews that you get, the more money that you will make.
3. Be a Freelancer on Upwork or Freelancer
These websites are similar to Fiverr, but you can make more money on Upwork and Freelancer. I love these websites. I use Upwork to hire freelancers in my business. The more skills that you have, the more value that you can provide, the more money that you can make.
When you create a profile, I recommend that you include a video of yourself. Doing so will make you stand out from the competition. Spend some time browsing the categories, find people who are doing jobs successfully and model what they've done.
4. Teach English
You don't necessarily have to be the best at speaking English to teach English. In fact, there are a lot of kids out there that are merely looking for someone to listen to them. I recommend checking out Cambly. They have a section on their website for tutors. You get paid to chat with people from all over the world and don't need any experience to do so. They automatically track the time that you tutor and pay $10.20 per hour. Your earnings are delivered to you every Monday, via Paypal.
The second website is called QKids. This is mainly for young Chinese learners, between the ages of 4-12 years old. You can work flexible hours, anywhere in Canada or the US, and will get paid $16-20 USD per hour for a 30-minute lesson.
5. Flip Things on eBay
The best way to do this is by going to a website like Craigslist. On that website, you will find a free section where there are products that people are giving away, for free. This is a great opportunity to find something that you can flip on eBay. On eBay, you can do research and see how much you can charge for items. Ideally, get things that are small and easy to ship. I know a lot of people that flip things on eBay full-time. It's called retail arbitrage.
6. Sell Your Expertise
There are a lot of people who are willing to pay for someone's expert advice. A great website for this is Clarity. This is a platform that brings together a community of passionate experts and thought leaders who help people with their problems. By creating a profile, people can request a call with you. You can charge anywhere from $2-5 per minute. It all depends on your level of expertise.
7. Do Affiliate Marketing
This is the process of promoting other people's products or services. If people buy through your affiliate link, you will earn a commission from your efforts. This is one of the easiest ways to make money online. All you need to do is sign up for an affiliate program, find a great product, and start promoting it to people.
Clickbank is a great affiliate marketplace where you will find a lot of digital and physical products to choose from. Ideally, it's great if you promote products that you personally use. How do you do this? One way is to create content on YouTube. Before people buy a product, they usually go online to see what other people are saying about it.
For example, I've been using a Vitamix blender for years now. I discovered that they have an affiliate program so I signed up. They pay $75 for every person who buys through my affiliate link. This is a great payout. If you don't want to film YouTube videos, you can always review products via blog posts. However, if you are going to write content, I encourage you to learn SEO so that you get traffic to your content.
Going back to my Vitamix blender example. I filmed that video over 6 years ago. It only took me one hour to create but people continue to watch it every month to this day. This product continues to consistently bring in revenue for me. The more videos that you publish with affiliate links, the more money that you will make. This is why affiliate marketing has the potential to make you a lot of passive income.
