I had the opportunity to interview him about the mindset of becoming a successful online entrepreneur.

Here is a sneak peek of my interview with Rudy Mawer where we talk about how he went from being a personal trainer to a multi-millionaire entrepreneur by 26 years old.

Do you mind sharing with people how you became a successful online entrepreneur?

I started as a personal trainer. It's fair to say that I had a big passion for my industry and what I taught. I really wanted to help more people. Obviously, my entrepreneurial brain wanted to make more money and create a life of freedom. Over time, I became very good at my craft and offered a great service.

I got a Masters Degree in Exercise Science and worked with celebrities, gold medalists and elite athletes. However, I still wasn't having the impact or making the money I wanted. I knew that unless I got a Ph.D. I couldn't make that happen.

There were people in my niche that were making millions of dollars but they were all models. They didn't have my educational background. I realized that they were successful because they had great marketing teams, so I knew that's what I needed to create. Five years prior to all of this, I was doing Facebook ads when I was running nightclubs.

Luckily, I was familiar with how the process worked.

I started going to events and took a lot of courses in marketing. Grad school was done and I was single, so all of my time was invested in growing my business. I was working 18 hours per day. In two years, I scaled to making millions of dollars with the help of Facebook ads. I was selling fitness products, fitness coaching, and supplements. Today, that business is on pause. My primary focus is on my marketing agency where we help people fast track their success.

How did you learn how to do Facebook ads?

You can have all the knowledge in the world, but if you don't apply it, it's pointless. The reason that I was successful is that I went all in. The key point was that every day I was applying knowledge to my own stuff. This is why we get better results as an agency. I am unique in that I've built a multi-million dollar business myself before teaching others. However, I'm also still applying it to my own businesses every single day.

What is your mindset for success?

When it comes to business, mindset is everything. Life will knock you down. It's inevitable. However, the people that remain successful are those that keep going, no matter what. My Mom was a professional athlete so I spent my entire life at the Olympic games. I was constantly surrounded by success. Hence, from an early age, it was ingrained in me that I could achieve whatever I wanted in life.

My Mom won a gold medal at 50 years of age.

She trained every day and was committed. Everything that I've achieved in my life has been done without any outside investment. However, my parents gave me the mindset that I have today. More importantly, I'm not scared of failure. You learn your biggest mistakes and develop the most as a person when you fail.

What are the best strategies for increasing traffic and sales?

Business is very simple. You need a great product that converts, a great offer, and then you need people to see it. If you have those two things in place, you can build a million dollar business. Most people don't have any of those in place. They may have a subpar offer, no copy or no funnel.

You can have a great product, but if nobody sees it, then you will never make money. Obviously, Facebook ads are the best way. It has unique delivery capabilities in terms of how many people it can reach and how you can target people.

More importantly, it doesn't cost a lot to start.

The cool thing about Facebook is that you can pay $10 dollars per day in Facebook ads and get started reaching more people. With old fashioned media, you would have to pay $1000 to be in a magazine, wait for two months for it to be published and then hope you make sales. However, nowadays you can track everything.

What are the marketing opportunities that Instagram provides?

One advantage that I have is that I'm running ads. My Instagram grows faster than ever now because I have a product that converts and I can run traffic to grow it. I grew my Facebook page to 900,000 followers in two years. I didn't do any traffic to grow the page.

Rather, I grew it because I was spending $20,000 per day on Facebook ads for my product.

I would get 5,000 likes some days from my ads because people were engaging and buying my programs. With Instagram, I get a lot of that as well because I run a lot of ads. In two hours, I'll get 200 followers just from people looking at my ads. I teach people how to grow their Instagram channels. It's still an organic platform where you can make money without ads.

Within a year or two, that will be gone, which is why you've got to make the most of it. If you want to grow your Instagram organically, be consistent. I also teach about the importance of having the right content. You can't post random stuff. You have to be strategic.
