Have you been feeling lost lately?
Feeling lost in life can be a painful experience. However, if you allow your pain to define you, you will always be a victim of it. What if I told you that by embracing the feeling of being lost you are actually redirecting yourself to a better place? Your pain can lead to your purpose.
Oftentimes, it is only until we hit rock bottom that we are forced to change our lives. Difficult times shed light on what isn't working, making us question who we are and what we want out of life. Now is the time to create a compelling future that excites you.
This is what I like to call your purpose or life's mission. Without a compelling future, you won't feel inspired to do much of anything. You will succumb to laziness and procrastination. The question is, “What if your future isn't clear?”
For a lot of people, the education system contributes to this lack of clarity. From personal experience, I found traditional schooling to hinder the discovery of my passions. Whereas some of my classmates knew exactly what they wanted to do when they finished school, I did not. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. It's fair to say that I was lost and confused.
How can you know what your mission is in life is if you don't have the courage to try new things?
A lot of people invest an insane amount of time, money and energy into their education only to find out that they are no longer interested in their degree once they're finished. I believe that the pursuit of passion requires time for play, exploration, and self-directed education.
Luckily, at the age of 17, I found the world of self-development. My perspective towards learning shifted dramatically. My life was forever changed. I realized that you don't find your passion in a book or by impressing others.
Rather, you find your passion by trying new things and doing what you love, regardless of whether or not others agree with your path. Through trial and error, I started to figure out what my natural talents were. In turn, I was able to determine what my values were.
I was blessed to figure out what my passion was when I was 21 years old. I went on to pursue my passion as a career and I created an online business. Over the years, my passion has evolved and changed. However, the essence of it still remains the same.
The mission of my brand, Project Life Mastery is to transparently, passionately and powerfully be a positive example of the unlimited possibilities that life offers for those that are truly committed to mastery.
If you're feeling lost and have been struggling to figure out what your mission is in life, I encourage you to take action and experiment with new things. Try different jobs, business ideas, or hobbies. Pay attention to what it is that you enjoy and don't enjoy. Observe how you feel with each experience. There is no better way to discover what makes you come alive inside.
You may find that your passions change over time and that's okay.
All that matters is that you take action. If you've been sitting around and waiting for your passion to knock on your door, think again. Don't dream about what could be. Instead, be the driver of your destiny. You and only you are responsible for moving the needle forward in your life.
If you're not living your life on purpose, now is the time! Your purpose is waiting for you, but you have to be willing to trust yourself. Harness the power of your imagination and start envisioning the kind of life that you want to create. You have the ability to manifest anything that you want using the power of your intentions. Once you realize this, your life will change.
Are you ready to find your life's mission?
While it may not feel like you are in control of what's happening in the world right now, you always have control over your inner world. You have two choices. You can either let life happen to you, or you can embrace life's challenges and commit to starting a new chapter in your life. Now is the time to rise up.
In the words of Mark Twain, “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” How will you make a difference in the world? Find your life's mission and the rest will take care of itself.
