Don't give up on yourself when life gets hard. You are stronger than you think.
When life gets overwhelming, giving up feels like the easy thing to do. However, nobody is going to benefit from your gifts if you decide to throw in the towel.
This is not the end. Rather, it's the beginning of something magnificent. If at first you don't succeed keep trying until you do.

Don't give up on yourself.
Your monkey mind will try to tell you all of the reasons why you should, but don't allow yourself to buy into these limiting beliefs. When life gets hard a lot of people look for the easy way out. As a result, they never achieve their goals and dreams in life. Don't fall into this trap.
As humans, we are naturally wired to seek out pleasure and avoid pain. When given a choice, most of us will seek out shortcuts and choose the easier path. Unfortunately, success is not a walk in the park. You will not get to where you want to go in life by dabbling. Nearly everything that creates value in life requires intense effort, focus, and hardship.
It's not easy to change your life. In the process of becoming a new version of yourself, there will be moments when you doubt yourself. However, you need to remember that tough times aren't meant to destroy you. Rather, they are there to encourage you to rise up and step into your power.
Greatness isn't meant only for “special” people. Instead, it's something that already resides in all of us. If you can't find a way, then make the way. I have lived my life by this philosophy and it has always served me well.
However, if you aren't willing to invest in yourself and do whatever is necessary, giving up will be the easy choice. Is that what you want? I'm going to guess no. At the end of the day, it's a choice that only you can make.
Here are 6 reasons why you should never give up on yourself, even when you feel like quitting.
1. Failure Is A Normal Part Of Life
It is impossible to achieve success in life without experiencing failure. I get it, failing sucks. When you invest your time, money, belief, faith and energy into something that doesn't work out, it's easy to feel defeated. The problem is that society frowns upon defeat. Failing is viewed as something to avoid at all costs.
In his book, Celebrating Failure: The Power of Taking Risks, Making Mistakes and Thinking Big, Ralph Heath says that “Failure and defeat are life’s greatest teachers [but] sadly, most people, and particularly conservative corporate cultures, don’t want to go there.”
If you think that your intelligence, hard work, and passion for life will save you from failure's grasp, you are wrong, so don't bother trying to resist it. You've got to realize that failure is a normal part of life.
Everybody has failed at something. In fact, the most successful people in the world have failed many times, including me. The next time you fail, be fearless and remember that this is only a steppingstone on your road to greatness.
I believe that when you learn how to transform failure into opportunity, success is yours for the taking. In the words of Michael Jordan, “I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying.” Be willing to risk everything and try. It's the only option.
2. You Are Closer To Success Than You Think
When things don't work out, it's easy to lose your enthusiasm. This is usually when negative thoughts show up and you start to think that things will never get better. If you aren't careful, you will start believing these things to be true. As a result, you may give up altogether.
Oftentimes we don't realize how close we actually are to achieving success. In my experience, the moment when I've felt like quitting is the moment when I experience my biggest breakthrough in life. Sometimes all it takes is a few more weeks of believing in yourself and putting in the hard work in order to achieve your goals.
That answer that you've been looking for is looking for you, but only if you are patient and willing to wait for it. This is why you cannot afford to give up. Whenever it feels like the intensity is growing, that's a surefire sign that you are getting closer to your win!
You've come too far to give up now. Keep growing, keep believing, and keep taking action. If you do, I promise that you will give birth to your dreams. In the words of Toni Sorenson, “Strength comes from struggle. When you learn to see your struggles as opportunities to become stronger, better, wiser, then your thinking shifts from “I can't do this” to “I must do this.” What is your must? Hold onto it and don't give up.
3. The World Needs You And Your Gifts
A lot of people get caught up in the dreams of others. In their desire to be seen and validated, they dim their own light in the process. Did you know that you have amazing gifts that the world is waiting for? Maybe these gifts are lying dormant inside of you because you are too afraid to share them.
I lived a huge part of my life in my early years ignoring my gifts. Instead, I hid behind a mask of my true self. Sadly, I didn't love myself enough to do the inner work. Eventually, I woke up. I finally realized that I was a happier and more fulfilled person when I embodied my passion and shared my gifts.
You have a unique capacity to serve and add value to others. There are people out there that need the extraordinary talents and gifts that you have to give. I believe that all of us have been put on this Earth for a reason. It's called your purpose.
If you don't yet know what your purpose is, don't stop looking. Sure, there are some people who know from an early age what it is that they want to do. However, for others, it takes longer and that is OK. Nobody is expecting you to be successful overnight, and neither should you.
You've got one life to live and it's your job to make it something beautiful. This is why you need to create a life that you love. Honoring your truth is one of the most selfless things that you can do for yourself.
4. Anything Is Possible
There are successful people in this world that start out with nothing. Despite their circumstances, they were still able to achieve great feats in life. Why? Because they had the belief that anything was possible. Whatever you are striving for in life, I promise you that there is someone in the world who has already achieved it.
You create your reality. If you believe that there are limits to what you achieve in life, then you will only encounter limitations. As a result, you will always feel like giving up when things get hard. Conversely, the person that believes that the world is their oyster will try anything and everything. They will risk it all to have it all. Will you?
If you struggle with self-belief, take the advice of best-selling author Jon Gordon who says, “Talk to yourself more than you listen to yourself.” Just for one week, try talking to yourself like a champion instead of listening to yourself as a victim. I guarantee that you will be blown away by the results.”
5. You Are Stronger Than You Think
Take a moment and think about how far you've come. Do you think that you would be where you are today if you weren't strong? No way. Instead of being your own worst critic, celebrate yourself and your accomplishments. Instead of lifting themselves up, a lot of people look for reasons why they aren't where they should be. Not surprisingly, this way of thinking holds them back in life.
There is nothing that has happened in my life that I haven't been able to get through. However, I didn't think my way into mental strength. Rather, like a muscle, I had to develop it every single day. As a result, I was better able to approach challenges through a positive lens. I knew that I could overcome anything, and I still do to this day.
Research shows that the attitudes, cognitions, emotions, and personal values that comprise mental toughness develop as a result of repeated exposure to a variety of experiences and challenges. The strength of your mind will determine the quality of your life.
The next time that life tries to get you down, don't give up. Trust that the best of you is yet to come. You are 100% capable of doing more than you could have ever imagined. Believe it.
6. Regret Sucks
Are you taking actions right now that will position you to succeed in life? If you aren't, now is the time to change that. One of the hardest things to do in life is live life with regret. When you are on your death bed you don't want to look back and wish that you had made different decisions.
Research shows that more people regret things they didn't do than the things they did, even if things they did turn out badly. It's easy to talk about all the reasons why you can't do something or why it's hard. However, none of these things are true.
Quitting on your dreams is a choice. If you want to succeed in life you've got to take responsibility for yourself and your life. The best advice that I can give to ensure that you do not live with regret is to stop making excuses and start taking action. Instead of dwelling on the past and what “could” have been, focus on moving forward.
Embrace your failures because there is no such thing as a wasted lesson. Don't regret these experiences because they have shaped you into the person that you are today. Sometimes you've got to experience pain, fear, lack of motivation and confusion in order to hit your emotional threshold and say to yourself, “I am ready for something new.”
The only thing that you should fear is a life that is not fully lived, on your terms. Live in alignment with your truth and trust that everything is unfolding in your existence exactly as it should.
The worst mistake that you can ever make is giving up.
Every now and then you may need a simple reminder of what your purpose in life is. The next time that you lose motivation and feel like throwing in the towel, pull upon these 6 reasons. It may take you years to achieve your dreams and that is OK. Don't ever give up. In order to experience success, you've got to be willing to taste defeat.
The most successful people in this world never gave up, and neither will you. Decide TODAY that you are going to be the best that you can be. This one decision could transform your entire life. When you fall down, get back up again and never lose faith in yourself.
You are stronger than you think. Believe it. Feel it. Own it.
