Are you not getting the results that you want? Have you ever invested in your personal or career development, hoping to find the secret formula for success, but you keep coming up short?
I have huge respect for anyone that is willing to invest in themselves. This is what has helped me get to where I am today. Investing in yourself is the best investment that you will ever make.
Jim Rohn once said, “Work harder on yourself than you do on your job.”
It's up to you to keep learning, improving and evolving yourself to the next level, but it is important to understand that results don’t happen overnight. It takes time, determination, commitment and consistency, over the long-term.
You will experience moments of failure, disappointment, and frustration. I failed for years, but everything that I learned has helped me grow; everything has been an asset that has prepared me for optimal success in my business and in my life.
As long as you keep learning from your mistakes and experiences, and you commit to mastery, you will break through and achieve your goals.
Research has identified what is called, “an agile mindset”—an attitude that equates failure and problems with opportunities for learning, a belief that we can all improve over time, and the view that our abilities are not fixed but evolve with effort.
Always remember that your mind is the most powerful tool that you possess to help you achieve all that you want. If you change your mindset, you change your results.
Grow and invest in your business over the long-term, and I promise that you will eventually break through to the next level and achieve massive success and results.
Keep your dream alive and keep moving forward!

Video transcript
All right, guys. What's up? This is Stefan, from ProjectLifeMastery.com, and I've got an awesome video blog for you guys today, answering a very important question that I received from someone on Snapchat. Before I get into it, let me ask you guys a question. Let me ask you guys this, “Have you ever invested in a course, or a product, or a training program, or maybe invested in a mentor or a coach?”
Maybe you invested in a seminar that you attended, or some sort of business opportunity, where you invested your time, money, focus, or energy, and you decided you're going to give it a shot. You're excited by the opportunity. You believe that this program, product, or opportunity could help you achieve the goal that you're after and the lifestyle that you want, of making money online and earning passive income.
You invested in it, but unfortunately, you didn't get the result that you wanted. You came up short in some way, and things didn't work out the way that you initially expected when you invested in it because you had such high hopes. Whenever you invest in something, that's when you have the belief and the vision of what you're after, and you didn't get a return on your investment; you didn't get a return on your time, your money. You didn't make any money.
You feel like a failure; you feel like you failed yourself, you feel like the product failed you, you feel like the person you invested in failed you in some way. Then, you jump from opportunity to opportunity, or product to product, looking for the secret sauce, looking for the answer of what's finally going to make the difference for you to break through and have the success that you're after.
Well, I just got a great question here from someone on Snapchat, by the name of Jeffrey. Jeffrey sent me a Snap describing that scenario. By the way, if you guys aren't following me yet on Snapchat, I highly recommend that you do. My username is StefanJames1. I'll have a link in the description of this video. I think I put up my best content on Snapchat. I provide a behind the scenes look at my daily life and I answer people's questions. There is really powerful stuff on Snapchat. Make sure you follow me. Jeffrey sent me a Snap, a video Snap, and he said, “Stefan, I've invested in all these different products and training, but none of them work. I've got myself in debt now. I didnt get the result that I was after”.
Massive respect
First of all, I've got massive respect for anybody that's willing to invest and bet on themselves. That's what I've done my whole life. I've invested over $100,000 now in courses, products, training, mentors, and seminars that I've attended. That's helped me get to where I am today. There have been many ups and downs. I'm going to get into that in a little bit.
First, I've got massive respect, and I really admire you for investing in yourself. My answer for you in this video, or anybody that's watching this that can relate, my answer is coming from my heart. I hate to offend you in some way. That's not my intent. I'm going to tell you the truth in this video, out of love, because I want you to have the result that you're after. I want you to break through and have success in your life.
I want that for everybody. That's why I do what I do. You can't do something for 4+ years of your life, every single day here on YouTube and on a blog, if you don't sincerely care. I'm going to call you out a little bit in this video, and tell you the truth, because that's what it takes to really break through. It's getting rid of the story, the excuses, and the blame that you have. You need to take responsibility for yourself and your own actions.
Now, the truth is Jeffrey, all of these training programs, these products, these opportunities, these businesses, they all work, my friend. They all work because there are people out there that are getting results. There's people out there that are breaking through and having massive success by investing in this product, or this training, or this business opportunity. You see the testimonials and the success stories of these people that are changing their lives. They work. They get results.
What I'm going to call you out on is that it's not the training or the products. Rather, it's you. You are the one consistent thing that you're taking with you from product to product, from opportunity to opportunity. It's not the products that aren't working. It's you that's not working, my friend.
There's something within yourself, your mindset, your psychology, your habits, or your belief system, that's preventing you from getting the results that you're after, in a course, product, training program, seminar, coach, mentor, or business opportunity. It's not until you can look at yourself, have that awareness and identify where you're coming up short, and work on yourself to overcome it, that you'll finally break through and get the result that you're after.
80% of success is your psychology
One of my favorite sayings, I believe I share this all the time, is that 80% of success in any area of your life is your psychology, whereas only 20% are the mechanics, the how-to, the course, the program, the strategy. 80%. It's right here. Your psychology. You can invest in a course, or a product, or a training, but you're not guaranteed results. You've got to put in the work. You've got to put in the time. You've got to be disciplined.
You've got to have belief, you've got to have faith. You've got to be willing to invest in your business. You're going to have to be willing to sacrifice something, give up your evenings and weekends, put in the hours, fail, and learn from those failures and mistakes so that you can get more results in the future.
It's up to you to keep learning, evolving and improving yourself, learning from the trials and tribulations along the way. You need to have patience and focus on the process. Its about working smart. Your mindset and your psychology is what is going to determine your success with anything. Every diet works. The reason why there are so many diets that are out there is because it's not the diet that doesn't work, it's the people's mentality. Their psychology. They're just looking for the shortcut. They're looking for the magic bullet, that by investing in the diet, or doing this, they're just all of a sudden going to get the result that they want, instead of understanding that you've got to pick something and commit to it, take massive action, be consistent, and be disciplined. You need to focus on something over the long-term in order to get results.
With any diet, any course, any product, you will fail. Show me one person out there that is successful that hasn't failed. Thomas Edison failed over 1,000 times. Here's the real secret. Here's what you're missing and where you're coming up short, is that you believe that by investing in this training or this seminar, that the investment equals a result. It doesn't work that way.
You've got to understand that the knowledge and the skills that you're acquiring through going through the training, the seminar, or the mentor, the real value of that is not today or tomorrow, or next month or next year. The real value of that training, that product, or that course, is years from now, 5 or 10 years from now, before you achieve the result that you want.
For me, in my life, I failed for years
When I first got into building online businesses and learning about Internet marketing, I had the dream and the desire. I read the book “The 4-Hour Work Week: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich“. I was excited for the possibilities that existed out there. I wanted to become a millionaire. I wanted to be able to travel the world and to live a certain lifestyle. I invested in myself. I invested in the courses and the training.
I learned as much as I could, and I still struggled for years. It took me 3 years before I made any money online. I got into debt. I was living in my friend's living room, on his little futon couch, in Kitsilano, not far from here. I've actually got a view right now, here on the 40th floor, I can see the area that I used to live, because I'm high up above now, having achieved success in my life years later.
You see, those years of failure and struggle did not go wasted. It wasn't a failure in any way, because everything that I learned from those courses, products, and mentors; all of those experiences that I had have helped me get to where I am today. Everything is an asset. Everything is bringing you one step closer, and preparing you for the millions of dollars that you're going to eventually earn in your life.
The ideal lifestyle that you're going to have one day. Everything is just preparing you for that. As long as you keep learning; learning from your mistakes and experiences, committing yourself to mastery, and putting in your 10,000 hours, you will eventually break through and have the success that you want in your life.
It's not going to come overnight
You can't just invest in something, and say, “Oh, it didn't work. I'm going to go onto the next thing.” Every month, every few months, you're just moving from product to product, because you can't go deep into something. You've got to go deep, man. You've got to focus. Some people achieve results fast. I get that. We all hate those people because it seems like they just get amazing results overnight somehow.
It never works out that way. It's never how it really appears because sometimes you see someone, they get success, seemingly overnight, but you're not seeing the work that they put in. You're not seeing the failures they had, the different business opportunities, the different courses, programs, and products that they went through before they finally broke through and achieved the results.
For me, now, if I invest in a training program, I'm going to get results much faster than I ever did before, because of the knowledge and skills that I've already acquired going into the training, the business, and the opportunity. I've been doing this for 9 years of my life, starting businesses, and trying different things. I've been through that failure period, so I finally get it, and my psychology now is what's allowed me to achieve success in multiple businesses.
I had to go through a process to get there, and you do too. If success was that easy, then everybody would be successful. Success is only reserved for people that are truly committed to doing whatever it takes. You'll always get rewarded in life for your commitment, and doing whatever it takes. You always get rewarded for hard work and for adding value, for improving and investing in yourself. It might not be initially, but you eventually will.
Everybody is different. Some people achieve success right away. For other people, it takes longer. In the same way, in high school, some people dont have to study or do homework, and they get 100% on the test. How do you explain that? Some people are just gifted in that way. For other people, it takes longer. For me, I was never good academically in school. I always needed extra help.
It didn't matter how much I studied or how much homework that I did, it was always a struggle for me. I just didn't get it. I had tutors and I still didn't get it, but I kept at it. I barely scraped by. I barely passed. It's been the same thing with me in business, because it never came naturally to me in any way, but the one thing that I had that was consistent all along, was that I was committed. I was willing to execute.
Be willing to learn and invest in yourself
I was willing to learn. I was willing to invest in myself. I refused to give up. I worked harder on myself than I did on my job or my business. I learned that from Jim Rohn. He once said, “You've always got to work harder on yourself than you do on your job, or your business”. If you change, everything will change for you.
Jeffrey, the training that you're going through, the courses, the products, they're not wasted. You're not wasting your time. You're not wasting your money. You've got to keep learning. You've got to understand the value, and that the benefit is going to be years from now. I can't tell you how many times Ive been dabbling around and learning about WordPress and different things, and spending hours going to these marketing programs.
I didnt achieve results right away, but 5 years later in my business, it's helping me earn over a million dollars a year. I look back at those moments, and those moments of failure and think that those are the biggest growth spurts that I had. You're always going to learn more from failure than you ever will from success. That's where the real value is.
Another area where you might be coming up short is that you're not focusing. You're not going all in. You've got to pick a business and go all in with it. You're building a business. This is not a little trick or gimmick, you're building something of real value here that's going to be long term and sustainable, and stand the test of time 5 or 10 years from now. That doesn't come easily. Businesses require investment and time, upfront.
That's what success requires. It requires sacrifice. You're sacrificing today, for tomorrow's betterment. For your future. This is not like a job. A job is when you get paid by the hour. You put in an hour, you get $20. You put in 2 hours, 5 hours, 40 hours in a week, whatever, you get a certain return guaranteed from that. This is not building a job. Job mentality doesn't work in business. In business, you only get paid based on results, and when you start a business, you've got to invest in that business to get it going, and you're not going to see the results right away.
It's kind of like planting a tree. You plant a seed in the soil, you come back tomorrow, and you're like, “Okay, where's the tree?” It doesn't work that way. Every day, you've got to water that seed. You've got to nourish it. Just through that consistency, you don't see any results on the surface, but what's happening is underground, there are roots that are growing. As long as you keep at it, eventually the seed starts to sprout.
Then, over a period of time, you build this massive tree. This massive plant that's there. It eventually grows fruit. The fruit is the results that you're after. Again, it doesn't happen overnight. It happens just through consistency, and working at it, but, again, you're expecting results instantly, or too fast, and it doesn't work that way.
Whenever you tell me, “Okay, the training products don't work,”. It's not that, my friend. It's you. You've got to commit to it. You've got to overcome the barriers that are holding you back. You've got to take more action. You've got to be consistent. You've got to keep learning. Eventually, you will break through and have success. I promise you that. As long as you're committed, you will achieve success.
You can't be a dabbler
Dabblers are the people that do exactly as I described. They just jump from product to product, opportunity to opportunity, and they don't have the right mentality to be successful long-term. Don't be that guy. Focus, commit yourself, and make sacrifices. Sacrifice today for a better tomorrow and a better future.
You go to college and you invest your time and your money, with the vision that one day you're going to get your degree. Then that degree and those years that you put into your education and developing yourself, that will eventually lead to a certain job, or a business, or whatever it is. That's how it works. You've got to put in the time, to keep learning and gaining the skills, and then eventually it all comes together for you, and you will break through to that next level. You will achieve massive success and results.
Jeffrey, my man, hopefully, this answer helped you. Anyone else that's watching this, hopefully, this was able to help and serve you in some way as well. I want to thank you so much for watching this video. Again, I talk a lot about mindset. Your mindset is the most important thing, with respect to results and success.
Hopefully, I was able to get through to you. Don't give up, keep going, and keep at it. I promise you, it's worth it. When you break through and you get the results in your life, your life is going to change for the better. It's going to translate to every other aspect of your life.
Keep the dream alive and keep moving forward. Thank you for watching this video. Leave a comment below, and I'll see you in the next video. Take care.
