How much time and money do you currently invest in yourself?
What would your life be like today, if over the years, you invested more time and money into yourself?
Investing in yourself as in reading, learning, listening, attending seminars, hiring coaches and mentors, going through online training programs, etc…
Warren Buffet says that the best investment that you can make is not in real estate, stocks or your business… but is in YOURSELF.
When I look at my life, I've realized that who I am today and the success that I've achieved are all the result of the investments that I've made in myself.
The books I've read, the coaches I hired, the seminars I attended, the training programs I went through… these have all made me who I am today.
I truly believe that whenever you put in to yourself is what you'll get out.
Anytime you learn anything new or stretch yourself, often times you don't see the true value of that investment until years in the future.
For example, since I was 17 years old I was investing in myself, learning and growing. However, I didn't see much of an impact of all the hard work in myself at the time. It wasn't until later in life that I began to reap the rewards of all the books, seminars, coaches and programs I went through.
When I was 21 years old building my own business, I struggled for years. However, all of that hard work and learning I did during those days have benefitted me in business immensely today. And better yet, they will have a lasting impact for the rest of my life which will serve me in all of my future endeavours.
You always need to think long-term with investments, never short-term.
If you buy a book, seminar or training program – what is the impact that will have on you over the next 10 or 20 years?
I think about the long-term investment on things all the time. I also think about the compounding effect.
Here's a question for you: What will your life be like if you do NOT invest in yourself?
What would you miss out on?
How much better could your life be today, if you had just invested in yourself when you knew you should have 5 or 10 years ago?
These questions always remind me the importance and value of learning. Invest in yourself.
This last month I attended two seminars. I went to one called Society of Protectors over 3 days. I also went to Leadership Academy in San Diego. I went through a $2000 internet marketing online training program. I read two books, worked with my coach, and watched a number of educational YouTube videos.
Compared to most people, I don't really “need” to invest in myself. I'm already fairly successful compared to the average person. So why do I keep doing it and showing up to these seminars? Why do I continue learning and buying online training programs?
It's simple: it's all about growth.
The more I learn, the more I earn. The also better my life becomes. My relationships improve, my happiness improves, my ability to serve others improves… EVERYTHING improves.
You always get an ROI on every investment you make, even if you don't see it immediately. You have to look for the long-term rewards – that is where it will benefit you the most!
In this video blog, I talk a lot more about the importance to invest in yourself. Enjoy!
