15 Day Juice Fast: My Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead Reboot Juice Cleanse
I’ve been juicing for years as part of my morning ritual.
I remember hearing in my early twenties the power of juicing and how it can change your life. One quote in particular I remember is, “If you can’t afford a juicer, then sell your car. A juicer will get you further in life”. It’s so true.
I bought the Omega J8004 juicer a few years ago (I even did a video review of it) and every morning, I juice my veggies with a bit of fruit. It makes me feel energized, happy and has amazing health benefits.
However, I’ve never done a juice fast or a juice cleanse before.
It wasn’t until earlier this year, when I watched the documentary Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead with my girlfriend that it motivated me to do one. I had done raw food cleanses before, but never a juicing cleanse.
So I decided to give it a shot. I was going to do a 15 day juice fast (a “reboot” as Joe Cross calls it) and I was ready for the challenge.
I picked up Joe Cross’ book The Reboot With Joe Juice Diet on my Kindle and used that for some extra motivation to complete my juice fast. It helped me understand more about juicing and the benefits of it.
In this video blog, I’ll be sharing more about my experience completing a 15 day juice fast. I’ll also be sharing more about the reboot juice cleanse that is recommended from the documentary Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.

My 15 Day Juice Fast Results & Experience
I’m going to best describe my results and experience on the 15 day juice fast that I learned about from the Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead documentary (by the way, if you haven’t seen it – make sure that you do!).
The first thing that I’ll mention is that preparation is the most important thing when doing a juice fast or cleanse.
In the beginning stages, you’re going to get hungry (which I did), so making sure you have juice ready and waiting is very important.
While I used my Omega J8004 juicer throughout the juicing fast, I also bought a lot of juices and had them delivered to my house twice a week (freshly juiced juice – not the crappy stuff in stores). When hungry, just drink juice and that is the solution to making that go away.
During the first 3-4 days of my 15 day juice fast, it was a bit challenging. I had a few episodes of being hungry and even noticed my energy was low at times, as well as I suffered from a few headaches. My emotions and mood were a bit sporadic too.
I remember learning from Joe Cross that the human body is made for feast and for famine.
Whenever you feast and eat, your body will be hungry again in a matter of hours. It’s hungry because it’s in “feast mode” and it expects food. However, when food is scarce and not available, then the body goes into “famine mode.” In this mode, your body turns off hunger and accepts that it’s not going to be getting food. It now begins using it’s stored energy for energy, which is our body fat.
I kept this in mind throughout the process. And sure enough, after 3-4 days of my 15 day juice fast, it got much easier.
On day 5, things started to really change.
My energy started to explode. I can’t even tell you how much energy I had during the cleanse.
My mood and emotions radically changed. I started to feel spontaneously happy and joyful. It’s amazing what kind of emotional affects the foods we eat can have on us.
My skin started to improve. In fact, every process of my body started to function at a much more optimal level.
My eyesight, hearing, smell, taste – EVERYTHING got better.
And sure enough, no hunger at all. It became easy. No cravings – it was a breeze after that.
Finally, I did drop in weight. Quite significantly. About 8-10 lbs. However, most of it was water weight and just not having food in my stomach. I did lose body fat and possibly a bit of muscle too.
If you’re looking to do a 15 day juice fast for weight loss, then it can easily work – my girlfriend actually did a 15 day juice cleanse also and had great results with it too.
What I Specifically Did On My Reboot Juice Cleanse
I’m now going to share the specifics of my 15 day juice fast and exactly what I did on the reboot juice cleanse. This might be helpful for you, however it is by no means necessary.
- I drank 4-6 juices everyday (how much juice you will need depends on your hunger, body type, weight, etc…)
- I drank a lot of alkaline, ionized water every day
- I did 4 colon hydrotherapy sessions to further cleanse my colon
- I had a few important supplements, such as probiotics, enzymes, amino acids, and a few others
- I also used a bit of Udo’s oil (Omega 3-6-9 oil) everyday for healthy fats
- I did a few light workouts (using 5-10 lbs dumbbells) just to stimulate my muscles enough to let them know they need to stick around
- I did rebounding everyday (jumping up and down on a mini-trampoline) to stimulate my cells and get rid of lymph
- I got a live blood analysis done, to be able to see my blood and the improvements in it
- I got a massage and relaxed at a spa (including a hot/cold pool)
- I did a liver flush to cleanse out gallstones from my gallbladder
- I read books and fed my mind with positivity
It seems like a lot, but like I said, it’s not all necessary. I’m just a bit of a health freak and I like to optimize myself in every way possible to get maximum results.
I’ll be sharing more about my liver flush experience in another video blog, because that’s a whole different experience.
Ultimately, I had a great experience on my 15 day juice fast. I’ll likely do one again every year and keep it up as a ritual.
I really believe in the importance of giving our body’s a break and allowing them to heal and get rid of toxins. Especially since our body’s have endured so much abuse over the years of our lives and continues to accumulate toxins through most of our lifestyles.
So I’d say to give it a try. You don’t have a do a 15 day juice fast like I did. In fact, in Joe’s book The Reboot With Joe Juice Diet, he shows you how you can do a 3 day reboot if you want. There’s also a 5 day juice reboot, 15 day juice reboot, 30 day juice reboot, and you can even go 60 days like he did in his Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead documentary.
He recommends that if you are planing on going beyond a 15 day juice fast that you get your doctors supervision. He also says you want to have some plant-based protein if going beyond 15 days, to ensure you don’t have any protein deficiency or lose too much muscle during a prolonged cleanse.
Once my juice fast was over and I got back into a regular diet again with working out, the muscle of my body came back quickly. I have my strength back and even look better than ever. I am leaner than before too, so I can tell I’ve lost a good amount of body fat.
