I want to show you the steps on how you can build a successful, sustainable affiliate marketing online business that makes you money while you sleep.

Affiliate marketing it is a process in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate's own marketing efforts.

Affiliate marketing is the most powerful way to make money online because you are using leverage.  You are basically sending traffic to somebody else’s website and then for every sale, you earn a commission for doing so.

In any online business, the first step is that you have to pick a niche or market that you want to build your online business around. An example could be “weight loss”.

The mistake that a lot of affiliate marketers make is that they decide on a niche and they build a blog or a website around that niche, but that’s all they do.

In order to build a successful online business, you cant just build a small niche website, or a “one-legged stool”.   It will not have a solid foundation, and as the Internet changes and adapts, you will be at risk of losing your business.

Jay Abraham uses a term called, a “Business Parthenon”, also known as an authority website or a brand.

A “Business Parthenon” needs to include several different legs. These legs represent different streams of attraction; different streams of traffic, subscribers, followers, visitors, etc.

Having an authority website will allow you to build a successful, long-term business that has a strong foundation and that makes you passive income.

Lets say that the different legs that you have in your weight loss niche are blogging, and the strategy here that you are going to leverage is content marketing.

For example, you might publish a blog post on how to lose weight, and you are going to need identify what people are looking for in the weight loss market. This is one leg of your business Parthenon.

A second leg could be Facebook. For your brand, you are going to want to build a Facebook page, and you are going to attract followers that are interested in weight loss that are going to follow you.

On that Facebook page you can share your blog posts.  This is a great way to diversify yourself and your business.

The third leg could be YouTube – you could publish videos on how to meet the needs of the people in the weight loss market.

This will add value to people, also known as “value added marketing”. This establishes you as an authority, it pre-sells people, builds trust, etc.

The fourth leg could be Instagram – you could create images around healthy bodies that inspire people, post motivational quotes. This provides value and attracts people, and allows you to get followers and subscribers in many different ways.

A fifth leg could be publishing books on Amazon and selling them, which allows you to funnel people to your blog, website, YouTube channel, etc.

Another piece is email marketing, which is one of the most powerful strategy online – it is still the #1 way to communicate with your followers and subscribers.

You want to funnel people into your email list, and one of the best ways to do that is to create a squeeze or landing page, where you give away something of high-perceived value that benefits people in the market.

For example, give away a video or an audio, for free, in exchange for someone entering their email address.

The question is, once you build an email list, how do you leverage affiliate marketing?

You are going to find products in affiliate programs that are relevant to your subscribers, and that meets their needs. Then, you are going to join the affiliate program for that product, and promote the products to your email list.

That is what gives you the power of leverage. In business you need to think smart, not hard. Use leverage to your advantage. That is the power of affiliate marketing.

You need to become a master of attraction and promotion. Attract people to you online and then promote and monetize it in some way.

By mastering this, you will be able to build your online business and an authority brand that is both sustainable and adaptable.
