Set long term goals. Look at how much you can make with your approach over a 1 year period. Don’t just look at money. Look at how many people you can reach, how much traffic you can build to your site and what types of results are possible to get over time.
Divide your goals by 4. Now that you have a 1-year plan, take the goals and divide it into 4 goals. Look at your numbers and how much you can get per quarter. It’s important to be realistic. For instance, if you have a new website, you may not drive 1,000 people to it per day, especially in the beginning. This is why many say it takes at least 6 months to really start building.
What will you do each month? What will you do today?

More important, find your focus. If you start with the beauty niche, for example, don’t stop there. There are literally thousands of sub-categories that you can pull from to find something you want to sell.
Make sure you extend your reach with not only a general niche but also specific approaches to the niche. Maybe if you like beauty, you are interested in cosmetics, fashion boutiques or alternative beauty.
Find what you really love in your niche and stick to that. This is going to help you get the results you want with your affiliate marketing endeavors.
When you are doing your research it's important that you choose a niche that you are passionate about. Like anything in life, it is much easier to engage in something that makes you come alive inside.

There is a stronger method than just finding trendings. Calculate how much competition you have and how many products there are.

The idea is to combine your passion with the most effective results for sales. You can do this with research as well as with your specific interests.
If you don’t combine the two, then you will limit what you are able to sell.
For instance, even after building successful affiliate marketing platforms, I found myself having little to no motivation in continuing to sell.
The reason was related to being in a “lack mentality” and just trying to make money to survive. While this helped me to change my mindset, it didn’t help to continue to bring in the amount of money I wanted and became unfulfilling.

When you join an affiliate program, you will get an affiliate link, so that the person who is selling the product or service can track which sales were produced by you.

All you have to do is buy a domain name, which will allow your site to be live. I recommend that you head on over to GoDaddy, as their prices are reasonable.
Keep in mind that you want to carefully choose your domain name. I suggest that you think of something that is memorable and catchy, keeps it short and sweet, and adds keywords that describe what your business is about.
You not only need a domain name but also need hosting. GoDaddy can also supply you with this.

There is a simple space to upload your WordPress template to and which will guide you with the next steps in building your website.
I suggest that you plan out what you are going to build with your website before you start to place images and write text.
Most technicians go through several phases of putting together any website. They build from a skeletal framework, specifically which outlines exactly what information, images and other relevant forms of content need to go in which place.

When I first started to work with affiliate marketing, I was interested in making more than I currently did. My goal was to make enough to move into an apartment and to be independent with the income that I created.

- Innovation. In most instances, innovation creates hesitation. If you have looked at the startup market, you know that most investors won’t go into a product for 2 reasons. The first is because there isn’t proof of concept. The second is because they don’t know how it will perform. That means that if a business is based purely on innovation, it will have a hard time entering the market.
With most businesses, there are other business owners. There are different individuals that are working with similar products. Why work with your own innovation? Instead, find a spin on what you are interested in and use this to add value to others’ lives. You will find that there are different approaches that provide even more opportunities to make money… without the startup headache.
- Customer Support. I’ve met a few people who really like customer support and answering inquiries. However, if you are looking for financial freedom and a different lifestyle, it may not be the most efficient use of time. It takes a lot of time and energy with very few results. It’s easy to get caught up with customer support and even deliveries without enjoying your life and everything it has to offer.
When you are involved with affiliate marketing, you don’t have to work on customer support. You don’t have to deliver anything, be in charge of a product or respond to complaints. Instead, you simply advertise. The rest of the affiliate product is up to the person that is providing information and the basic business structure.
Of course, you want to make sure you have a product that is valuable. If you find that there are issues with the product and customer service, as well as other dynamics, then it may be easier to find a different solution to the affiliate marketing you are working on. This will assist with the type of program you are building while allowing you to authentically add value to someone else’s life.

After you start building a strategy, creating a niche and advertising your affiliate products, you may have the same questions that I did. Is it all going to work?
When I first started to market affiliate products, I had questions about what it could or could not do. I didn’t know if I could make enough income to change my lifestyle or get out of the situation I was in. With the amount of work that was created from the approach – just from marketing and strategy – it became questionable of what I could or could not do.
The first step I made was to set a goal to make an extra $300 per month. This may not seem like a lot, but it was the next best step to get out of the situation I was in and to get the results that I wanted. To make that first step, it required continuous work, setting goals and finding a way to maximize the impact I was making.
At first, it may seem like the benefits of affiliate marketing are difficult to reach. It takes time to build your brand, highlight the messaging and to get the results you want.
However, after I started making $300 per month, it was easy to get $1,000 per month. And when I reached those goals, it was easier to accel with the next steps for affiliate marketing that I wanted to reach.

I believe that the number one reason for success in any business is the ability to learn. That means that you need to have an open mind and know what you need to change, as well as when. This will make a significant difference in your capacity to learn different concepts.
You will find that everything you decide to learn leads to another step to success. As you implement new concepts or learn from mistakes, you become more successful. You reach new plateaus of finances as well as freedom. And you are able to find the achievable results that you really want.
Are You Practical?
Have you ever met someone who believes that they can start a business today and reach a goal of $5 million tomorrow?
That may be an extreme version of dreaming but not being practical. However, it is easy for everyone to get caught up in dreams and ideals without setting realistic goals.

Success as an affiliate marketer isn’t based on signing up for the best program. If you want to make millions, it means getting up every day, acting on what you have available and getting the results that you want. This is what gets the results that you want.

What Are You Doing Today?
Success doesn’t happen by waiting for the goal and expecting everything to happen for you. That is closer to luck. Even luck doesn’t come without hard work first.

You may find that there actually wasn’t any failure that took place. Instead, there was a learning curve that you needed at that time.
If you didn’t meet your goals – great. Look at why that happened. Did you get comments about what happened? Look at where you “failed.” You will find that there is a lesson for you to learn about what has happened.
That’s all for you to reach your success. It helps you to find exactly what you need to succeed. When you begin to look at failure or feedback from that, then you will find that you have the opportunity to reach even greater levels of success.

If you go in with that mindset, then success is going to be limited. The approach to profit only is going to limit how much you can do and what you get in return. While it’s good to have a focus on profit and what you would like to get out of affiliate marketing, expand your intentions.
When you focus on value first, it ultimately changes the way that an individual will respond. It is easier to advertise anything you are selling. More important, it is attractive to those you are marketing to. It’s easy to tell if someone is sincere about what they are selling. It’s also simple to see if something will add value to another individual’s life.
Make sure that value is your priority. What are you doing to make someone else’s life better? How are you helping them crush it? Spread the word about how you can make something even more valuable for someone else so they can achieve what they need at that moment.

What you decide to sell is important. You should spend more time deciding what affiliate products are best for you than anything else. When you have the right product, even the simplest marketing tactics will work in your favor.
If you find a niche that is highly competitive, then it will be difficult to grow. If you find different products that are saturated, then you will also find yourself fighting to stay on top. If you find something that you like but no one else is interested in it, then you will find yourself convincing others to find the value in something they are not interested in.
The niche you decide to get into determines the outcome of your affiliate marketing journey. Yes, it is possible to “sell old shoes” if you know the tactics. But remember, others are trying to find products to sell like you are. As we grow into a digital marketplace, it becomes even more difficult to find your space online and stand out from others.
Instead of fighting for a position or getting products that don’t sell, take time to find your niche. Use tools that help you get the results that you want. Make sure that you know exactly what you are looking for and how it adds up with the possibilities for affiliate marketing.
When I first began to market affiliate products, I focused on what I liked and combined this with things which were valuable. For instance, I bought a Vitamix blender because I was into health. I loved the product so much that I decided to find an affiliate program and was able to earn a commission from that.
It wasn’t that I just found an item that worked. It combined with the trends. If you look at what individuals are searching for online, it is often associated with health and wellness as one of the top industries. And, it’s continuing to grow.
So what happens when you combine that with a niche product? I knew that affiliates were selling the product – but weren’t using certain online channels. That gave me a heavy advantage for sales and allowed me to move forward with promoting something that I knew the added value.
Here are some of the things you want to look at when you are finding your niche.
- Digital or Physical? With Amazon FBA, the growth of affiliate products and other trends, it is easier to find physical products. At the same time, information, such as books and digital items, are continuing to grow. Make sure you find something that is easy to sell and which can easily segment based on the type of product it is.
- Industry. I always research industry when I’m looking at the products I want to sell. With the industry information, I know what is growing, what the topics are and who to sell to. That makes it easier to find a niche and to understand what the trends are. If the global industry is declining, you will have difficulty with finding individuals interested in your products.
- Customer Interest. Your first rule of affiliate marketing is to provide value. You can see from the experts that the reason they reached success was that they found what their customers needed and promised to deliver something of greater value. Make sure you identify your customer interest and build on this. More important, make sure that there is a large group of people all looking for the same solution.
You can also tie your niche into other types of research. For instance, Google Trends gives great information about what someone is looking for, how you can use the information and what the next trends are.
There are other approaches with different niches that help to differentiate your idea and how it works in the marketplace. Of course, that is dependent on how that relates to the industry and whether you are selling a product.
A tool that I love to use is Jungle Scout. This identifies different products and gives you information related to sales on Amazon. If you are looking at selling products with something like Amazon FBA, then this tool is priceless. It can set you up for success.
To use Jungle Scout, you can look at several measurements.
- Competitors. You can identify how many competitors are selling similar products on Amazon. You can “spy” on them, meaning you will have more information on how much they sell, what their price points are and how you can use this for your own products.
- Niche. Want to know what’s popular with products? You can find it here. Jungle Scout offers several pieces of information related to niche and how it works with your decision to sell. Know when something is popular if it is saturated and how you can fit in with specialized products.
- Products. Look up products you are interested in, find similar types of products and know exactly what is out there. With this feature, you can browse online and see what works with your decisions to sell. By doing this, you will easily be able to get results and can find the products that work.
Your research and investigation of products are what gets the results. I’ve seen several individuals reach success specifically by using these types of tools. Keep your checklist by you while you search for the best results and make sure you know how to build into your own niche.
How to Make Money From Visitors
I’ve talked to hundreds of experts, all that use specific tactics and strategies to build their online presence. Whether it is your own business or affiliate marketing, you can keep building on the different strategies to create results.
Each expert comes back with the same advice, and it is also what I do to make sure that I’m successful with every item that I showcase to add value for someone else.

What exactly does it mean to monetize your traffic?
You’re not going to get money automatically when someone shows up on your website. While the “get rich quick by having a website” projection is still strong, there are several other things you need to do to make everything work.
Instead of hoping that someone will come to your website and pay you money, set yourself up for success. That’s the greatest approach that you can use. The key is monetizing your traffic.
How exactly do you build up the traffic that you want or need to get results that equal money?
You want to look closely at the process.
- You place a blog, video or piece of content online.
- You share the content with your social media.
- As a result, people visit your website.
- When they visit, they absorb information.
- This is where you monetize your traffic.
When someone visits your site, you want to engage them. It’s important to help them make a decision to further engage with your website. They have to see enough value and interest with what you offer to continue to look at what you offer.

Highlight what your audience need to start getting the results you want.

Have you ever met someone who doesn’t believe they have succeeded? They may have some results, but it isn’t good enough. There may be some income coming in, but it’s not what they wanted. There may be traffic to your site, but how well is it really doing?
It’s easy to continue with questions and not get the results that you really want. If you have already started affiliate marketing, but don’t know how to achieve more results, then your answer is in the analysis.
There are two ways to analyze your success. The first is with goal setting. I’ve found that setting goals and making sure I meet these with the affiliate programs I am working with makes a massive difference in results.
Analyze how much you made this month and how much you want to make next month. Set the milestones in place so you know exactly how to move forward with the results you want.
It’s also important to look at your analysis in relationship to traffic, how many people are signing up for information and how many sales you have with this.
