Making My First $100 In A Month Online

I have created a new and improved version of K Money Mastery which is called, Mastering Book Publishing!

I'm in paradise right now – Phuket, Thailand.

Beautiful weather, gorgeous beaches and inexpensive cost of living – a digital entrepreneurs dream.

It's my second time visiting here, the first being in 2010.

At the time, I had a few years of business experience under my belt and was on a mission to figure out how to make passive income online.  I was investing in courses, reading books, attending seminars, and doing EVERYTHING I could to finally breakthrough and have success.

I had decided to take a leap of faith and go abroad to Southeast Asia for a few months with only one goal in mind: to make $300/month from an internet business.

I still remember being at the Beijing airport during a layover, frantically writing out my goal and reasons why it was a MUST for me to achieve.  I was obsessed and fully committed to making it happen, declaring that I would NOT come back to Vancouver, Canada until I had achieved it.

On that trip around Southeast Asia, I worked my ass off.  I wasn't there to party or meet anyone, I just lived in hostels and guest houses (with no AC – because I couldn't afford it at the time) and worked on my internet business as much as I could.

It ended up being a lot of fun and very productive.  I didn't have any distractions and once a week I would go on a fun adventure to take my mind off things.

When I made it to Phuket, Thailand, I was working at a Starbucks day and night.  It was here, that I had a huge breakthrough in my business and made my first $100 in a month.

I will never forget that day or moment.  Everything changed for me.

Making $100 in a month, even though it's not much money, gave me CONFIDENCE.

It gave me belief and a sense of certainty that I could make more.

It VALIDATED to me that online marketing WORKS and I felt like I finally cracked the code.

Since that day, I went on to reach my goal and make $300/month online.

After that, it was $500/month.  Then $1000, $2000, 4000…

Once things got to $5000/month, my world came crashing down and my internet business was affected by a Google update (Penguin update, which affected my search rankings for my business).  My income dropped by 75% overnight – (I shared this back in 2012 in this video blog).

I learned a powerful lesson during that time, which was the importance of diversifying my traffic and income.  That things can change in a instant and protecting your business is important.

This was during 2012 and at the time, I started diversifying and getting into Kindle publishing.

Kindle publishing ended up bringing massive success, changing my life – allowing me to re-build back my income and get to over $8,000 in a month consistently.

In 2012, I also started Project Life Mastery, just for fun and as a side-hobby.

The rest of the story will be shared for another time, but that year I was able to build a 6-figure Kindle publishing business, and then build Project Life Mastery into a 7-figure a year business.  I became an internet millionaire in 2015.

Despite creating a lot of success over the years, I still remember and celebrate that day in Phuket, Thailand – making my first $100 in a month.

To be completely honest, I celebrated more that day and got more of a “high” than making $100,000 in a month or even becoming a millionaire.

It just meant more for me then, especially because I was desperate and where I was coming from.

Being back here in Phuket, 6 years later, has brought back a lot of emotion.

I'm working at the same Starbucks that I worked at 6 years ago.  It's amazing how things can change in a matter of years.

What created my success was BELIEF and just being RELENTLESS.

When you commit yourself to something 100%, it's amazing what is possible.

I had many failures, challenges, and obstacles along the way.  I could've given up (and probably should have) at least a dozen times.  But I never did.  It never even crossed my mind.

I KNEW that the internet lifestyle was something that I was destined for.  I was going to change my life and create the life I wanted, and I did.

If you're reading this and looking for some inspiration, then know this:

You can do it.

You can change your life.

It won't change today or tomorrow.  It won't change a week or a month from now.

It may take YEARS.  But who cares how long it takes?

Just get started – that's all that matters.

Work your tail off.  Invest in yourself.  Commit yourself fully.

When you break through and create your success, you will look back on this day and be grateful.
